iPad2021 is expected to launch next week - Apple events may be canceled

Apple may not hold an event to unveil the iPad Pro 2021, instead announcing it on Apple's website next Tuesday; Twitter user LeaksApplePro has suggested that the new tablet could appear on April 13, but from Apple headquarters. Nothing flashy like a streaming event.

Even without the event, this could be an important update for this popular tablet. It will feature a mini LED display and an upgraded processor, the A14X, for even more power and performance. With the ongoing global pandemic, canceling virtual events is much less of a problem.

The new iPad will close the gap between tablets and Macs. All of these devices feature Apple's proprietary silicon, and the iPad Pro seems to be becoming more flexible with each iteration. Rumors also suggest that the iPad Pro will have four Thunderbolt-compatible USB ports (using a USB-C connector). This would open up quite a few options for the iPad's future as a computer.

If LeaksApplePro's tweet is accurate, there will be a delay in AirTags, which may help explain why Apple is not holding an iPad update event. Apple's AirTags continue to be a source of considerable excitement. This ultra-wideband beacon is said to allow users to track everything from keys to wallets. Inside the house, Apple's augmented reality (AR) technology is said to guide you to your lost items. And if your stuff goes further afield, you can mark it as lost and a compatible iOS device will report its location through the "Find My" app.

The further delay of AirTags will no doubt remind some of AirPower, which was Apple's ambitious multi-device charger that never made it to release. However, Apple is trying to release a product that meets its high standards, and the AirTags' delay is probably due to its unsatisfactory performance. Furthermore, unlike AirPower, AirTags was never officially announced.

After some recent problems with butterfly keyboards and MacBook displays, it might be a good thing for Apple to make its new devices as bulletproof as possible.
