The new color of the iPhone13 has just leaked — and it looks gorgeous

Someone at Apple may have been looking enviously at the Phantom Black Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, as a new leak claims that a matte black iPhone 13 exists.

The leak comes courtesy of a YouTube video created by EverythingApplePro in collaboration with regular leaker Max Weinbach, showing off what the matte black iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max look like The video shows how the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max look in matte black. To us they look pretty classy.

Following the design of the current iPhone 12 Pro, the rendered iPhone 13 Pro has a matte back, a shiny black camera module, and the sides look like shiny dark stainless steel. This is not an eye-popping use of color, but Apple has never made a pure matte black iPhone Pro before.

Cupertino has used matte black on the 2016 iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. But since then, the matte black finish seems to have been consigned to the iPhone's history. The darkest shade available on Apple products is often Space Gray on iPads and MacBooks, and the iPhone 12 Pro is available in a deep blue as well as a rather attractive graphite finish.

But pure matte black is something new for the modern iPhone and will appeal to many who prefer a phone that gives the feeling of being an expensive watch like the Rado. And of course, the upcoming iPhone Pro will offer the color that Samsung sang and danced with in the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

However, according to leaks, the matte black of the iPhone 13 Pro is actually a "redesigned graphite." That's a potential marketing term for a phone that has yet to be announced. But to our eyes, it's essentially matte black.

For those who want a little more brightness in their lives, Apple has been suggested to have a series of colors for the iPhone 13 range, including a new orange color that looks rather striking in renderings, if potentially divisive.

Those who don't care about the phone's colors can rest assured that the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro are said to feature a series of upgrades. While a more powerful A15 chipset is certain, the iPhone 13 series will have a smaller notch, a Touch ID sensor in the display, and a 120Hz refresh rate screen on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro max. There are also rumors that the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro max will feature a 120Hz refresh rate screen.

Improved photographic performance is also expected: the iPhone 13 Pro model will feature an ultra-wide camera for improved low-light performance, and all four iPhone 13 models are said to potentially include sensor-shift image stabilization.

Rather than revolutionizing iPhone design, we expect an evolution of the existing iPhone 12.
