Huawei may not have a great reputation in the United States, but internationally it was once a major player in smartphones. Despite U.S. sanctions, the company is still going strong and still producing beautiful and powerful phones. And now, a new concept rendering from Concept Creator and LetsGoDigital has been released.

Right off the bat, we can see the distinctive Leica camera module and curved display. It is a beautiful phone from all angles, and we hope that the final design will match what we see here.

The P50 Pro is rumored to feature the Sony IMX800, the world's first 1-inch camera sensor in a smartphone. This will allow the main camera to capture more light, allowing for brighter photos and better low-light shots without much fiddling with ISO and other settings. It is also rumored that the camera will have triple lenses: wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto.

We have heard that Huawei will announce a new P series in April, which is consistent with other hints and suggestions. However, Huawei may delay the phones due to supply chain issues from both the pandemic and US trade sanctions.

The name P50 has not been confirmed, but follows Huawei's previous P devices: there will be two models, Pro and regular, the latter replacing the former Lite; the P50 Pro will feature Huawei's homegrown Kirin 9000 processor, while the regular P 50 may feature the lower-end Kirin 9000E.

LetsGoDigital speculates that the P50 Pro will feature a curved 6.6" QHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It may also have an in-display fingerprint sensor. According to rendered images, the selfie cam will be a single sensor with a hole in the center.

All in all, the Huawei P50 Pro could be one heck of a phone. Of course, we cannot forget the biggest caveat of recent Huawei phones. Due to U.S. trade sanctions, Chinese companies cannot access Google Apps, including the Play Store. App installation is handled through Huawei's own app store, but nonetheless, it's an odd experience if you're used to all that the Play Store has to offer.

There are no clues as to when Huawei will announce the new P series. It could be as early as this month, but supply issues could push it back to June. Only Huawei knows, so we will have to wait and see.
