Star Wars: Bad Batch dropped explosive new trailer

With the release of "Star Wars: The Bad Batch" approaching, Disney Plus decided it needed a little more publicity and released a new trailer to get us ready for the series. And unlike the first trailer (which was pretty thin on detail), this new reel shows that it will be more than just Clone Wars Season 8.

It was previously revealed that The Bad Batch is set after Revenge of the Sith and at the end of the Clone Wars. What we didn't know was what the titular troopers would actually do. They go AWOL and seemingly kidnap an adolescent clone in the process.

For those who don't know, the Clone Wars ended when the Emperor enforced Order 66, forcing the clones to turn against the Jedi and any comrades who disobeyed. A bad batch is nothing if not insubordinate, and the Empire does not seem to like soldiers with "nothing but problems" very much.

So they are on the run, but they don't seem to intend to hide quietly. They will also cross paths with rebel leader Saw Guerrera, who will likewise prove to be nothing but trouble in the years to come.

They will also encounter bounty hunter Fenech Shand, star of "The Mandalorian" and the upcoming "The Book of Boba Fett." So it seems that after "Clone Force 99," it's not just clones and imperial troops. Perhaps Fett himself will make an appearance. What he did between "Revenge of the Sith" and "A New Hope" is not yet known.

There are still many unknowns, but we will have to wait until May 4 to know much; May 4 is the day "The Bad Batch" will debut on Disney Plus, with a special 70-minute premiere. After that, new episodes will be released weekly, but it is not yet known how many there will be.
