OnePlus Watch Price Just Leaked - Look out, Apple Watch3

The OnePlus Watch has already been confirmed to be officially unveiled at the OnePlus 9 launch event today (March 23), but we already have solid information on how much it will cost ahead of the live stream.

The leak was posted on Twitter by trusted insider Ishan Agarwal, who confirmed that the OnePlus Watch will start at €150 for the European market. This translates to about $178/£128.

Curiously, Agarwal was quick to advise people not to convert the European price tag to local currency, claiming "that would be different." But we still expect smartwatches to retail in the U.S. at roughly the same ballpark price.

All leaks should be taken with a healthy dose of skepticism, but OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has already confirmed that the watch will be sold at an "affordable price point." So the pieces all fit together.

If accurate, the OnePlus Watch will undercut many competitors, including the Amazfit GTS 2, which will be considerably cheaper than market-leading devices like the Apple Watch 3 (now the Apple Watch SE) and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 It will be.

More details on the OnePlus Watch will be announced at an upcoming OnePlus event, but courtesy of Unbox Therapy, we already have a very solid idea of what this watch will look like.

The watch itself bears a striking resemblance to Samsung's Galaxy Watch Active 2, thanks to its round face, rubber strap that fits over itself, and two buttons on the right side. It's a sleek, if not particularly groundbreaking, design.

Further leaked information (via Voice) suggests that the watch will be available in several special editions, including a Cobalt Alloy model with a leather band and a more elegant casing, and a Cyberpunk 2077 edition.

In terms of features, the wearable is reportedly going after the fitness cloud, with Agarwal tweeting that the watch will be "loaded, at least in terms of workout features." For that, we'd like to see GPS built in, but given its affordable price, that would be wishful thinking.

Battery life is another area where the OnePlus Watch is likely to shine, as it is rumored to support OnePlus' ultra-fast Warp Charge technology; according to Agarwal, the watch can be charged for a week in about 20 minutes.

All signs point to it being a very attractive piece of technology. Of course, for now we are only going from leaks that may prove to be false.
