Massive Amazon PS5 Replenishment Could Happen This Week — What You Need To Know

Online leaks indicate that Amazon is preparing a major restocking of the PS5 this week. Amazon's PS5 restocking was originally said to be last week, but it appears that it may take place this week.

Several PS5 tracking accounts report that Amazon is preparing nearly 50,000 PS5 consoles, but it is not yet clear when the PS5 restock date will be. However, it is not yet clear when the PS5 will be restocked. When the PS5 is restocked, you will need to play a game to get your hands on a PS5 console.

Update: As of 6:25 p.m. on March 22, Amazon does not have the PS5 in stock, but TechRadar reports that the Amazon PS5 could be restocked this week.

TechRadar YouTubers Jake Randall and Matt Swider, who have been tracking PS5 inventory for some time, suggested that the Amazon PS5 restock would be between 9:00 AM ET and 11:00 AM ET on March 18. This time frame passed with no indication that the PS5 would be available on Amazon.

However, not all hope is lost, with several sources claiming that Amazon PS5 restocking could happen soon. For now, we are keeping a close eye on the site and will update if there are any changes in availability.

Jake Randall also tweeted this week that Amazon plans to offer 46,000 PS5 consoles at the next PS5 restock, and Matt Swider of TechRadar posted evidence on Twitter today suggesting this is still the case The time slot has been moved to a new location. In other words, while the timeslot has clearly moved, there are still signs that Amazon is planning a major restocking of PS5s soon.

While definitive numbers are not usually available regarding restocking of consoles, 46,000 units seems to be a sufficient quantity of PS5s. This could mean that this week will be the best chance for avid gamers to get their hands on the system since launch day.

Similar reports are flying in on the other side of the pond, with several inventory tracking accounts claiming that Amazon UK will be dropping PS5 inventory this week, similar to that of the US.

This indicates that reports of Amazon's mass restocking of the PS5 are more than just wishful thinking; in the past Amazon has restocked multiple regions within a few days.

Of course, it is important to remember that until the restocking actually takes place, these are strictly just rumors, and Amazon itself has not officially confirmed anything and may not in the future. Retailers typically drop inventory without notice, so we won't know the validity of these rumors until the week is up. However, with many reputable PS5 inventory tracking accounts corroborating this information, it seems certain that there is at least some truth to these rumors.

PS5 inventory is now being replenished more regularly than ever, suggesting that the inventory difficulties that have plagued the console since its launch are being resolved.

If Amazon does restock the PS5 this weekend, be prepared; 46,000 PS5s certainly sounds like a lot, but inventory will likely still sell out in minutes as gamers and (unfortunately) duffers vie for the console. Below are some tips to help you be one of the lucky few to receive an order confirmation email.

While there is no sure-fire formula for success in securing a PS5 when Amazon restocks, there are a few things you can do to take advantage.

First, set up your Amazon account ahead of time. Save your address information and payment details in advance as well.

Stocking the basket is only half the battle, and once that's done it's a race to complete checkout. If you take the time to enter your card number and zip code, the game machine may be sold out while you're typing it in.

Signing up for Amazon Prime is also helpful if you want fast shipping, but it won't give you an advantage in actually getting the PS5.

A slightly different Amazon trick that has been getting a lot of attention lately is that when a game console is restocked, you can put it on your wish list in advance and add it to your cart from there. This avoids the listing page, which is practically always crashing due to excessive traffic.

Using this trick, you can usually fill your cart with inventory the moment it is restocked.

Make sure you have PS5 on your wish list ahead of time, as you can add it even if PS5 is sold out. To take advantage of this trick, do so well in advance of the restocking.

The last time Amazon restocked the Xbox Series X, we tested this method ourselves and found it actually works. We were able to add the Series X to our basket four times, but the listing page kept crashing and we were never able to add it to our basket.
