Forget the Galaxy Z Flip2 - This iPhone flip concept looks stunning

Rumors of the iPhone Flip continue to abound, but we have yet another hint of what Apple's foldable phone could look like. Concept artists Technizo Concept and LetsGoDigital have collaborated on a stunning design for the first foldable iPhone.

As far as we know, Apple won't reveal its folding plans until 2022, possibly 2023, but that won't stop leaks and rumors from flying around in the meantime. This concept is similar to what we have seen so far with clamshell designs like Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip and Motorola's Razr.

In these concept renderings, LetsGoDigital opted for a small notch for Face ID on the inner screen. It looks similar to the iPhone 12 on the outside, but with a cover display on the outside. This small square would display the time and important notifications and could also serve as a viewfinder for selfies. In this rendering, the same dimensions are used for the camera hump and cover display.

Speaking of which, the triple camera on the back is very similar to the one on the iPhone 11/12 Pro. However, we do not know how much Apple will focus on photography with the iPhone Flip. It could be secondary, or it could be improved in later generations. We will have to wait and see.

Opening the phone reveals something like a taller iPhone 12 Pro, again with a smaller notch; Touch ID also seems to be present in this concept and is integrated into the display, as we have heard iPhone 13 might do. Overall, this rendered design is slightly larger than the Galaxy Z Flip and slightly smaller than the Motorola Razr.

This concept doesn't show off anything we haven't already heard, but it sure looks nice. We hope the final design is somewhat similar to this, but concept renderings are often colored by wishful thinking. The final product will not look as pretty as this rendering.

However, we know that Apple is committed to high quality, and we expect the iPhone Flip to be a well-made product. A lot goes into a folding device, including a lot of testing on the hinge and glass to make sure it can withstand hundreds of thousands of openings and closings.

There are also rumors that the iPhone Flip will support the Apple Pencil. Other than that, we don't know much about the phone right now, but hopefully in the coming months, even just hints of a release date or announcement will change.
