Samsung has announced two new mid-range phones, the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72, with premium features at low prices. The Galaxy S21 FE is reportedly in the planning stages, according to a leaker with a proven track record regarding Samsung phones.

That leaker is Evan Blass, who posted a roadmap of Samsung's product rollout for the next six months. And at the end of that reported schedule stands the Galaxy S21 FE, which is probably a cheaper version of the Galaxy S21 flagship that Samsung released earlier this year.

The FE concept is not new for Samsung. Last year, a few months after the release of the Galaxy S20, Samsung announced the Galaxy S20 FE. This phone offered many of the same key features as other S20 models (such as the same high-end processor and a display with a 120 Hz refresh rate chief), but at a much lower price. The Galaxy S20 FE was priced at $699, $300 less than the Galaxy S20's introductory price.

It would be tough for Samsung to do the same with the Galaxy S21 FE. Furthermore, the Galaxy S21 already has a plastic casing, as opposed to the glass and metal casing that is one of the other key differences between the Galaxy S20 FE and its more expensive counterpart.

Blass does not include details about what Samsung might omit from the Galaxy S21 FE or the phone's price. However, its presence on the rumor calendar as Samsung's August 2021 phone release is more proof that we are not getting a Galaxy Note 21 this year. Samsung has already suggested that it may skip the new Galaxy Note due to a worldwide chip shortage.

Samsung is also rumored to be considering a push into foldable phones as a potential replacement for the Galaxy Note series, but there is no mention of it in the Blass timeline.

In addition to the Galaxy S21 FE, Blass mentions several other Samsung products to be released this year; in April, Samsung focused on PCs - specifically the Galaxy Chromebook and the Galaxy Book laptop running Windows Another Unpacked event will be held, Rieker said, with a tablet announced in June and possibly the Galaxy A Phone family in July.

According to Blass, possible additions to the Galaxy A series are the Galaxy A22 and Galaxy A82, which are lower-end than the A52 and A72 models announced this week. The models will reportedly offer dual-use camera modules in addition to 5G connectivity.
