Walmart appears to be developing its first Android TV stick. This news comes after a recent FCC listing, originally spotted by the Android TV Guide.

Judging from the images submitted to the listing, Walmart's new TV stick looks almost like a streaming device. Its dongle is just a bit smaller than a remote control and plugs into a TV via an HDMI port (as any streaming stick does). The main image also suggests that the upcoming Onn TV stick will come with an HDMI extension cable, a micro USB cable, and a charging block.

While the listing indicated that the new Walmart Onn TV stick will work with Android TV 10, we are still a bit confused as to why its remote control resembles that of Google TV.

From the looks of the buttons, the included remote supports some of the best streaming services, including Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and YouTube. We also know that the stick is equipped with an Amlogic s805Y chip, which means that this TV stick will only support full HD resolution. Thus, it is unlikely that Walmart's new device will be comparable to the premium Roku and Amazon Fire sticks that support 4K streaming. [However, Walmart Onn TV inventory could undercut Google TV's Chromecast, which offers 4K resolution for $49.99. Overall, this suggests that Walmart does not want to offer the most basic streaming capabilities and necessarily compete with other premium range devices.

No release date or price has been leaked yet, but FCC listings usually suggest that we won't have to wait too long for it to hit store shelves.
