Chrome for Android just got a big time-saving Upgrade - How to Try It Now

Chrome for Android has received a handy, time-saving update. Simply put, you can now preview pages before actually accessing them. This means that you can avoid getting rickrolled or accessing potentially dangerous pages.

This feature is provided via the new "Preview Page" option (via 9to5Google) in the context menu when you long-press a link. Doing so opens a preview window that slides over the current page.

The preview window takes up about 4/5 of the screen and acts like a completely separate window. You can scroll through the page as you normally would, or open links within the preview. Please note, however, that you cannot preview within the preview.

When the preview window appears, you will see the site's favicon, the article name, the site address, the Open button, and an X to close. You can also swipe down on the preview to dismiss it. This new feature adds a whole new way to improve mobile tab workflow and to review content without actually opening the link.

This feature is available in stable branch v89 of Chrome. It was also available on my Pixel 5 and Galaxy S21 Plus; Google has been working on this for quite some time, so it's good to see it hit primetime.
