Space Jam 2 Release Date, Cast, Trailer, Laura Bunny Controversy and plot

Wake up everybody, it's time for Space Jam 2. Yes, the long-rumored sequel to the 1990s animated hit has become a reality.

We've gathered all the details on when and where the new Tune Squad will dunk and how you can watch it online. We also provide a breakdown of the Laura Bunny controversy for those who are confused by it.

Space Jam: A New Legacy will be released on July 16, 2021 on HBO Max and in theaters. This is because Warner Media decided that while offering HBO Max subscribers an easy way to watch the film at home, movie theaters are not the best bet since they are still recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Space Jam: A New Legacy leaves HBO Max 31 days after its July 16 debut. This is the same time frame as Wonder Woman 1984 and The Little Things. Some blockbuster films, such as "Justice League: Snyder Cut" and "Dune," will be released on HBO Max at the same time as their theatrical release.

"Space Jam 2" has a stellar lineup, with LeBron James and Don Cheadle co-starring as the "CGI humanoid" (I wonder what that means) Al G. Rhythm. (Don Cheadle co-stars as a "CGI humanoid" (I wonder what that means) named Al G. Rhythm:

Space Jam: A New Legacy is about beating the computer game. LeBron James and his son Dom are stuck in a virtual world thanks to the nefarious machinations of digital thug Al G. Rhythm. And their only way out, it seems, is to defeat Rhythm's digital thugs in a game of basketball with the help of Bugs Bunny, Lola Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and the Looney Tunes gang.

When we got the first official look at Space Jam 2, it stirred up a lot of confusion and debate from one of the most unlikely topics: the character Lola Bunny's body is not as curvy as in the original film.

Director Malcolm D. Lee told Entertainment Weekly, "We reworked a lot more than just the look, including making the shorts the right length and making her feminine without being objectified." He said. This has sparked outrage, with some on the right blaming liberals and cancellation culture for the changes. Some fans of the original design have decided to "fight back" online and attempt to recreate the original Laura for themselves.

Nevertheless, Lee's point is not without at least one flaw. Laura's body in the original Space Jam is not a problem in and of itself. It is how the camera zooms in on her through the male gaze that objectified her.

Similarly, Pepe Le Pew was supposed to be in Space Jam 2, but the script was changed after thinking about appropriate behavior in a children's film.

According to Deadline, in a black-and-white scene set in a bar like Rick's Cafe in Casablanca, LePew kissed a woman (played by Grace Santo in Jane the Virgin) without her consent, got a slap on the wrist, and then consented to LeBron James There was a scene where he was educated about There was also a scene in which LePew revealed that his cat Penelope had a restraining order against him.

Understandably, some on the American right (including James Woods) are angry at the news.
