The new Google Nest Hub just Leaked - Get ready for radar-powered Sleep Tracking

We first heard about the all-new Google Nest Hub earlier this year.

According to sources who spoke to the site, the new Nest Hub will indeed feature Soli radar control, improved audio, and Google Fit integration with sleep tracking. It will also be designed to mimic the original Nest Hub.

If you were a fan of the original Nest Hub design, you will be pleased to hear that the same "floating screen" design will return for a third installment. Details on this are scarce, but it will probably be closer in size to the Nest's 7-inch display than the Nest Hub Max's 10-inch display.

Similar colors will also return, with gray, black, and sand pink. Aqua will not return, but apparently a coloring similar to Nest Audio's "Sky" will take its place.

Google is always looking to improve the audio experience of its smart products, and the new Next Hub is no exception. The new Next Hub is no exception. As expected, in addition to general audio improvements, a far-field microphone will be added. In other words, the new Nest Hub will have three microphones, just like the Nest Mini and Next Audio.

A major upgrade is the presence of the Soli radar chip. This first debuted in Google's Pixel 4 smartphone and was designed for touch-free gesture control. While it worked, Soli was still pretty gimmicky and didn't add much to the phone. However, Google has found a better use for it this time around.

We first heard about Soli support in January, but 9to5Google now claims that it will be used primarily for sleep tracking. It will be interesting to see how this works, since most sleep tracking keeps track of your movement and heart rate to find out if you are sleeping.

Soli should easily track your movements if you point it at your bed, but will it be enough? We will soon find out.

9to5Google reports that it is unclear if Soli will make air gestures available on the new Nest. But if that is not an option, it would be a bit of a waste. After all, even if Google Assistant were technically available, it would be useful to be able to control the Next Hub from across the room. Whether you hate "Hey Google" commands or are in a situation where you need complete silence. The chips are there for the taking.

We don't know exactly when the new Nest Hub will be available, but Google is said to be announcing it "sooner rather than later" and at a similar price to the current model. Nevertheless, it will no doubt be available for sale as soon as Black Friday arrives again.
