The iPhone13 reportedly boasts up to 1TB of storage

The iPhone 13 may come with 1TB of storage, the most Apple has ever put in an iPhone.

According to a Wedbush analyst report (obtained by 9to5Mac), the next iPhone could have twice the capacity of the 512GB currently available in the iPhone 12 Pro, the largest capacity available today. If this happens, the next iPhone will have more capacity than the average laptop or tablet.

The 1TB capacity seems to be backed by the supply chain, but the report does not specify which models this option will be available on.

If this prediction comes to fruition, it would be good news for avid photographers, videographers, or users who download a lot of different apps.

1TB phones have existed before, but they were not common. For example, Samsung offered a 1TB Galaxy S10 5G in 2019, but there are no Galaxy S20 or Galaxy S21 models with more than 512GB. Therefore, if Apple offers a 1TB option, it may be able to capture sales from normally enthusiastic Android users who prefer the safety of large onboard storage.

This is not the first time we've heard this 1TB claim; Front Page Tech's Jon Prosser said that a 1TB iPhone 13 model would be available in October. And he claimed in January that based on Apple's prototypes, the iPhone 13 Pro model may be the only one to offer the new storage option.

Not only will the basic iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini not get the 1TB option, Prosser also claimed that Apple may not increase the minimum storage beyond 64GB. This is seemingly a cunning way for Apple to encourage users to purchase more iCloud storage space, he said.

There are many more rumors about the iPhone 13 than just storage specs. So far, the most notable are a 120Hz variable display refresh rate and a portless model that supports wireless charging only. There may also be a new under-display Touch ID and a new small notch with improved Face ID.

All of these specs combined could make this new iPhone one of the next best smartphones, and its expected release in September should be another exciting one for smartphone users.
