Batman Movies in Order: Where to Watch all Batman Movies online

For those who want to watch the Batman movies in order or follow Bruce Wayne through the decades, we bring you details on how and where to watch all of Batman's cinematic adventures.

The good news for Bat-fans is that most Batman movies are now on the same streaming service: HBO Max. This is home to all the major live-action Batman movies, which is the category we are focusing on in this article.

Most of the Batman movies are divided into separate continuities and timelines. As such, they are organized by release date, but they are also separated by which director made which film.

A note about the animated Batman movies: many of them are also on HBO Max, but they are more disparate in their chronology. For that reason, I will not focus on them today.

We'll start with the oldest live-action Batman movies, Tim Burton's 1989 "Batman" and 1992's "Batman Returns".

Next is Joel Schumacher's Batman movie, starring Val Kilmer ("Batman Forever") and George Clooney ("Batman & Robin").

The DC Extended Universe Batman films (and others) begin with "Batman vs. Superman," the debut of Ben Affleck's Batman. Affleck made a cameo appearance in Suicide Squad and returned fully to the film in Justice League.

Ben Affleck's Batman will also appear in Zack Snyder's "Justice League" (a four-hour re-edited version of "Justice League" with its own continuity), to be released in March 2021.

Yes, there are two other notable live-action films, although neither is a must-see.

Those who want to go back in time to the swingin' 60s can get a taste of camp in the theatrical release "Batman," based on the cult 1966-68 TV series starring Adam West. Those who prefer the early 80s can watch the recent Joker on HBO Max for another take on how the Bat's biggest villain got his start.
