Microsoft Word Gets Killer Upgrade in Battle with google Docs

You may be able to finish your Microsoft Word documents faster now that Microsoft Word has added a new text prediction feature.

The smart tool, which comes in the form of a Microsoft 365 roadmap update, suggests the next word in a sentence by analyzing your writing style and preferences, and adds it with a single tap. It should be available to Word users as early as next month.

Previously, text prediction was one of the features that set Google Docs apart from Microsoft Word; Google Docs Smart Compose was first introduced in 2018.

According to Microsoft, the new update will help users "write more efficiently by predicting text quickly, timely, and accurately."

The time-saving feature, which was added to Microsoft's roadmap on February 19, is designed to automatically generate text as users create documents.

The feature generates grayed-out text predictions, which the user can accept with the Tab key, type over, or select with the Escape key.

The update also adapts to the user's writing style over time by analyzing linguistic preferences and writing habits. It can also avoid spelling and grammatical errors.

The feature will roll out next month, but the company has not yet said when the feature will be released in the web client and in the macOS version of Microsoft Word.

Microsoft seems to be pushing Word enhancements quite a bit. Last year it added a transcription feature to the word processor, allowing users to upload audio into Word and get a transcription that can be dropped into a document immediately.

And now they are trying to bring the proper versions of Microsoft Office, including Word, to the iPad, which could be a perfect fit for the productivity-oriented iPad Pro 2020. 2021 and beyond, Word and the rest of the Office suite will continue to expand their capabilities. will no doubt continue to expand.
