Apple TV apps with Apple TV Plus and others will finally be coming to Google TV and other Chromecast with Google TV sets.

We first learned about this in December when Google announced "early 2021."

This is a big problem not only for Chromecast owners who want to watch Ted Lasso, which we believe is the perfect show for Apple TV Plus, but also for those who have a library of movies purchased with their iTunes account.

While iTunes Store customers may be more likely to have purchased an Apple TV streaming device, the Chromecast with Google TV costs only $50, a fraction of the $150 Apple TV HD or $179 Apple TV 4K It's a fraction of the cost of the $150 Apple TV HD and the $179 Apple TV 4K. Moreover, it can stream in 4K HDR with Dolby Vision and Atmos, which the Apple TV app supports.

To get the app, go to the "Apps" tab or the "Apps" row under "For You." If it does not appear immediately, search for Apple TV. This fills the last app gap between Google TV and Chromecast; Google TV had two major streaming apps last year, HBO Max and Peacock.
