Mario Golf is back and coming to Nintendo Switch - here's your first look

Mario and his friends from the Mushroom Kingdom are coming back to the green! Mario Golf: Super Rush will be released this summer on Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo revealed the latest Mario Golf title during its latest Nintendo Direct event and also revealed that it will be available on Nintendo Switch on June 25.

This colorful sports game can be played with both traditional controls and motion controls, allowing players to swing the Joy-Con controller like an actual golf club.

A major feature Nintendo highlighted in the announcement trailer is a new game mode called "Speed Golf." In this hectic mode, all players tee off at the same time and compete to sink a golf ball into the hole as quickly as possible while using power-ups to their advantage.

The game will also include a single-player-only story mode, which will be a relief to longtime fans. The previous title, Mario Golf: World Tour (Nintendo 3DS), failed in this regard.

Mario Golf: Super Rush is being developed by Camelot Software, which has worked on all previous Mario Golf games and most recently on 2018's Mario Tennis Aces.

This wasn't Nintendo's only announcement at the February Direct; Big N also confirmed the long-rumored Switch port of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and a third game in the Splatoon series.
