The beta version of iOS 14.5 is now available and 217 emojis have been released. The new emojis include vaccines, burning hearts, exhaling faces, and many more inclusive options.

Emojipedia has an overview of all the new emojis, and besides Vaccine and a couple more mixed-race ones, Apple has confirmed the inclusion of several AirPods Pro Max brands as well.

At President Joe Biden's town hall on CNN earlier this week, he said the commercials look very different now than they did 20 years ago. He said it is common to see mixed-race couples in ads, indicating a generational shift is underway. Apple seems to have noticed.

iOS 14.5 will support emoji 13.1. This means that the iPhone will soon include more diverse choices, including different skin tones, including same-sex couples.

Three new smiley emojis are available, including an exhale face, a face with swirling eyes, and a face in a cloud.

iOS 14.5 has two new heart emojis.

Beards have also eclipsed the gender of emojis. In other words, it is not only men who can customize with a particular mustache, but female emojis as well. There are also options for hair and skin color.

And of course, Apple quickly replaced the headphone emoji with the expensive new AirPods Pro Max.

Along with the new emojis, there will be a host of new features when iOS 14.5 is officially released this spring. These include the ability to unlock your phone with the Apple Watch while wearing a face mask, apps such as Facebook will need to ask for more permissions when tracking user data, using Apple Maps to track traffic accidents and speed traps and setting the default music to another service, such as Spotify. Gamers will also see some additional features, including support for PS5 and Xbox Series X controllers.

Of course, those who want to jump on iOS 14.5 can sign up for the public beta now. And while it is stable, it is not yet final . So proceed with some caution.
