While we await the arrival of the MacBook Pro 2021, we have learned more about Samsung's Pro laptop. And it has three features that may not be in the upcoming Mac.

This is according to a new report from SamMobile, which says that the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 will have OLED panels, optional cellular connectivity, and S Pen support.

5G connectivity will only be available on the Galaxy Book Pro 360 (presumably the 2-in-1 model); the Galaxy Book Pro will have optional 4G LTE. [The Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 will be available in 13.3" and 15.6" models, with Core i5 and i7 processors. Samsung expects them to feature 11th generation Tiger Lake CPUs, but nothing has been leaked about that line yet.

OLED, cellular connectivity, and stylus support are nothing new for laptops, but all are still alien to MacBooks. This reminds us that while many (including us) are excited about the MacBook Pro, its major changes (return of MagSafe charging, SD memory reader, new design) are not so big in the PC world.

Only one of these upgrades is said to be under consideration by Apple. The company has resisted OLED panels in the past, but rumors suggest that Apple is considering a mini LED panel for this year's models.

Samsung laptop watchers should also note that the Galaxy Chromebook 2 just went on sale at Best Buy starting at $549. This model appears to replace the original OLED panel with a QLED display and offers longer battery life in return.
