Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again Release date, trailer, cast and Everything we know

Night at the Museum is back. Yes, "Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again" is the next big revival of an existing film on Disney Plus. Following the Ben Stiller-starring film, the look and cast have been completely revamped. [Night at the Museum] is a great piece of animation, but fantasy often works best when it is freed from the constraints of CGI. Don't expect Mr. Stiller to return dressed as the night watchman, but the film has a strong supporting cast that should draw in those less familiar with the film.

Disney's use of Zachary Levi, Gillian Jacobs, Thomas Lennon (writer of the original film), Bowen Yang, and Steve Zahn shows that the filmmakers have strong ideas about the voice of good comedy. It is enough to make one optimistic about the possibility of this being the best Disney Plus film yet.

Here's everything you need to know about "Night at the Museum": the Kahmunrah is back.

The first trailer for the Night at the Museum animated film shows the skeletons, animals, and other humans in the exhibition come alive at night. We then learn that the son of young Nick Daley (Larry Daley, played by Ben Stiller in the original film) is taking over the job of night watchman for the summer. The only problem is Night at the Museum: the villain Kahmunrah from Battle of the Smithsonian is back and plotting to take over the world.

"Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again" will be available on Disney Plus on Friday, December 9 at 3am ET/12am PT/8am GMT/7pm AEDT.

Nick Daley, the main character in Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again, is voiced by Joshua Bassett. Zachary Levi voices his father Larry.

The rest of the announced cast is as follows. Our favorites, as noted, are Gillian Jacobs ("Community"), Thomas Lennon ("Reno 911"), Bowen Yang ("SNL"), and Steve Zahn ("White Lotus" season 1).
