How to watch Tár online now — Peacock's Streaming Release Date

You can finally watch "Tár" online without having to spend money to rent or buy it. If you're getting ready for the Oscars, you surely will.

Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture in 2023, "Tár on Tár" stars Cate Blanchett (herself nominated for Best Actress) as classical musician Lydia Tarr. All seems to be going well for this acclaimed conductor, who will publish a book about herself titled Tár on Tár and perform an extensive live performance of Mahler's Fifth Symphony.

However, in the secret room, there are those itching to betray Tár, and they are already making fun of her without her knowledge. And in the classroom, Tarr engages in lively discussions with the students. But once the whispers turn to shouts and accusations, Lydia Tarr's entire carefully constructed empire is on the verge of collapse.

Blanchett is a frontrunner in this year's Oscar race, and Tarr has been nominated for Oscars in the categories of cinematography, directing, editing, and original screenplay.

As noted above, "Tár" is available today (Friday, January 27) on Peacock's streaming service.

Streaming of other Oscar-nominated films includes watching "The Banshees of Inishallin" and "Top Gun: Maverick" without a rental. With digital rentals and purchases, you can watch "Everywhere" all at home.

Peacock is available throughout the U.S. and elsewhere, but international streaming of Tár has not yet been determined. So if you are out of the country on vacation, you may want to check for a VPN if you can't watch on your usual service.

The best VPN is ExpressVPN (opens in new tab). It meets the VPN needs of most users and offers excellent compatibility with most devices and impressive connection speeds.

Tár has been available for purchase or digital rental on Amazon (opens in new tab) for $6 to $20, but the debut of Peacock (opens in new tab) marked the lowest price of $5. Peacock is the best streaming device available on most.

Tár is available in Canada via Prime Video (opens in new tab) and costs C$6.99 to rent or C$24.99 to buy.

At the moment? Tár does not appear to be available for streaming in either Australia or the UK.

If you are abroad and cannot watch Tár on your usual service for geofencing, we recommend a VPN such as ExpressVPN (opens in new tab).
