In addition to raising the bar for smartphone photography with a rumored 200MP camera on the Galaxy S23 Ultra model, the new Galaxy S23 series will feature a special Samsung version of the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, with regular and Plus models are said to feature a more enhanced battery.

While the smartphone will be the star of the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023 live stream, we are being eyed to battle the new Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch 2023, along with other new Galaxy Book laptops We also expect to see the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023 will be conducted as a live stream, with the showcase starting on Wednesday, February 1 at 10am PT, 1pm ET, 6pm GMT, and 5am on February 2 for those in Australia and AEDT time zones.

Samsung's website (opens in new tab) has a countdown to Unpacked and a hosting page with a chance to register to win online store vouchers. There is also a YouTube live stream (opens in new tab) of Galaxy Unpacked, embedded above.

There will also be in-person events around the world showcasing Samsung's latest products. These promise hands-on opportunities after February 1.

Naturally, the Samsung Galaxy S23 series will likely headline Unpacked. We expect to see the standard Galaxy S23, S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra. The first two models will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, perhaps with tweaks to the rear camera and, most notably, a rear design similar to the floating camera layout seen on the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra, on the other hand, is expected to largely follow the previous model's design with a Note-like aesthetic and S Pen slot. It is also said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, while the biggest upgrade is a 200-megapixel main camera.

While the phone may headline Unpacked, the new Galaxy Book laptop may also be a notable addition to Samsung's lineup. Samsung's Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360 was one of our favorite laptops of 2022, so a version with the latest Intel 13th generation Core processor will likely be well received, as will a spec upgrade to the non-deformed Galaxy Book 3.

However, the primary laptop may be the rumored Galaxy Book 3 Ultra. Not only will this laptop use the latest Intel silicon, but it appears to be offered in a 15-inch form factor that is sleeker than other laptops in this size and performance envelope; with rivals like the MacBook Pro 14-inch 2023, it should impress. will need to impress.

No Galaxy Buds audio products were announced at Unpacked 2023. However, it would not be surprising to see something like the Galaxy Buds Pro 2 included in the Galaxy S23 pre-order bundle. And some software updates dedicated to the Galaxy S23 handset for more audio influence from the various Buds could also be on the cards.
