Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra First hands-on video leak - See it from every angle

We may be just a few days away from the February 1 launch of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. At this point, however, Samsung may have little to surprise us. One hands-on video of the now-leaked Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra shows us exactly how this phone will look from all angles.

Recently, several retail units of the S23 series were leaked at a mobile store in Nicaragua. This hands-on video, which apparently originated from it, has been uploaded online by Twitter user Alvin (opens in new tab).

The video shows a sleek looking dark green S23 Ultra. Samsung is said to be launching the phone in four colors: phantom black, botanic green, cotton flower, and misty lilac. Of course, Samsung could give these colors different marketing names, but this video probably shows the new color, Botanic Green.

The S23 Ultra may have an S Pen holder next to the SIM card tray. Unlike Apple's iPhone 14 series, it appears that Samsung may retain a physical SIM card tray on the Galaxy S phones.

The overall phone design ties in with all the leaks and renders of the Ultra models we have heard previously. The company may not have made any major changes to the phone's design, and it looks much like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. This premium flagship could have a matte finish and look much cleaner.

The only major difference from the S22 Ultra in this hands-on video is that the S23 Ultra appears to have a larger camera lens. It is no secret that the Galaxy S23 Ultra may be upgraded to a 200MP camera, and the sensor is likely larger to capture more light to help with low light and night photography.

Earlier rumors said that the camera lens would be the same height as the phone's body, but the video shows that the lens is stepped and protrudes more than first thought.

More interestingly, we get our first look at the S23 Ultra's camera app. A video of the camera app posted on Twitter by the same leaker shows the phone's zoom feature.

The S23 Ultra is rumored to have 3x optical zoom, 10x zoom, and 100x digital zoom, and the leaked video shows the phone's zoom capabilities.

There are also leaked images showing a 200MP camera mode and 8K video recording at 30 fps. Another image suggests a portrait video mode.

Samsung recently announced the ISOCELL HP2 camera sensor, which may eventually be the camera on the S23 Ultra. The company released details about the lens specifications, including that it can produce 200MP, 50MP, and 12.5MP images through a process called pixel binning and can record 8K video at 30fps or HDR 4K video at up to 60fps. This is related to leaked images from the camera app and also indicates that this may indeed be the S23 Ultra.

Camera samples purportedly taken from the S23 Ultra's 200MP camera were also leaked, showing its impressive photography performance. Twitter user Edwards Urbina (open in new tab), who shared the leaked sample, declared that the S23 Ultra is "the new King of the Night (open in new tab)."

Samsung seems to be touting the S23 Ultra's space zoom and night mode, and the focus of this year's flagship seems to be on improved low-light photography and camera. We can only hope that the company doesn't focus solely on the megapixel jump this year, with some leeway for other camera features.
