Bing Comes to Windows 11 Taskbar with ChatGTP Microsoft recently integrated OpenAI's ChatGPT technology into its Edge browser and Bing search engine. And now this technology has been injected into the Windows 11 taskbar, which should theoretically make it easier for Windows users to find whatever information they are looking for.

The idea behind this is simple. Instead of opening Microsoft Edge to access Bing.com in order to use the chatbot feature, Windows users can do the same thing using the search box in the taskbar. This effectively removes several steps from the process and streamlines your workflow - or at least should save you a few seconds.

As Microsoft states in a blog post (opens in new tab), if you are on the Bing preview version, you can access the new search box simply by installing the Windows update today (February 28). According to Microsoft Vice President and Consumer Chief Marketing Officer Yusuf Mehdi (opens in new tab), only a limited number of people currently have access to Bing with ChatGPT, with "millions" on a waiting list. However, there is a way to get on the new Bing faster, as explained in our guide on how to get ChatGPT with Bing Early Access.

As of this writing, we have not yet tried this Windows 11 feature. However, according to the image above, it appears that you can use the chatbot feature directly from the Windows search box, similar to the Bing search box. We will update this article once we see this feature in action.

Microsoft is committed to integrating ChatGPT, and it makes sense for the company to bring this technology directly into Windows 11. The main advantage here is that instead of going to Bing to use the chatbot feature, one can use ChatGPT from the Windows taskbar. If you already use Bing with ChatGPT, or simply want faster access, this feature will probably make that process faster and smoother.
