I will review the sports bra for life — and this is one of the best I have ever tested

For female runners, getting the right sports bra is as important as finding the best running shoes for your feet. You want a bra that provides good support during your run, stays in place, doesn't chafe, and can be easily removed when you get home.

As a fitness editor and marathon runner, I know what I want when it comes to running bras. So I wanted to try out Sweaty Betty's latest innovation.

The female-led brand recently launched the Zero Gravity Running Bra, a high-support bra for activities like running, boxing, and HIIT training. It is available in cup sizes A through F and comes in seven different colors to fit every style of runner.

To learn more, I spoke with Sarah Platz, lead designer of the Sweaty Betty Bra, who ran over 20 miles in this bra for a week and washed it three times. For more information.

Like most of the best sports bras on the market, Sweaty Betty's Zero Gravity Running Bra is not cheap. It comes in seven colors: black, navy blue, wave green, mist blue, amaranth pink, hour blue, and veil pink. [The bra's cup sizes range from A to F, so you don't have to convert to an S, M, or L; you can buy your regular bra size.

I wear a 32C in a regular bra and was measured at the Sweaty Betty store in a Zero Gravity bra which I found to fit true to size. As a reminder, sports bras should be tight and supportive, so don't be tempted to go up a size.

While it doesn't matter much how a sports bra looks (I've never cared about the color of my bra at the 20-mile mark of a marathon), if I'm spending $80 on a bra, I want one that looks good, and the Sweaty Betty bra meets this requirement. The wide straps and contrasting stitching throughout the cups make the bra look stylish.

Like the brand's Zero Gravity running leggings, the bra is buttery soft to the touch. During long marathon workouts, the bra often rubs against the chest band, leaving a red rawhide when the bra is removed.

Sweaty Betty says she designed her bras to have a "weightless hold" to prevent hot spots and chafing.

The straps of the bra are adjustable, allowing the user to customize the fit. There is nothing worse than having your bra slip off at the end of a long run due to sweat.

Bra designer Sarah Platz says, "The delicate breast skin and tissue can be easily damaged by repetitive motion, regardless of bra size, so in a high-impact activity like running, it is very important that women have a truly supportive bra It is very important that they wear one. That's why we created the pioneering new Zero Gravity Bra. Our all-female team spent two years designing, tracking, and test-driving this bra to deliver all the relief and support you need while maintaining the fit and "ultra-feminine" feel.

Unlike compression-fit sports bras, the Sweaty Betty bra did not feel like it was crushing my breasts tight or overly restrictive on the move. Unlike other bras, I can throw it in the washing machine with my sweat wear.

Twenty miles later, I was impressed. The Zero Gravity Running Bra is very soft to the touch and does not chafe. It was easy to put on and take off, even when wet, and allowed me to move freely during both speed sessions and easy long runs.

It's not the cheapest bra on the market and won't fit everyone's budget, but if you can afford it, this is an excellent high-impact sports bra and you will feel protected and supported no matter how far you run.
