It's official — Apple sets the date and time for WWDC2023 keynote

The easiest prediction about Apple's upcoming WWDC 2023 has come true. Apple has confirmed that the keynote speech, which will kick off the week-long developer get-together, will take place on June 5.

Specifically, Apple's WWDC keynote will take place at 10:00 am PT / 1:00 pm ET / 6:00 pm BST. The invitation reads, "Please tune in as we unveil Apple's latest software and technology."

Apple has not said where exactly it will be available to watch, but the keynote will definitely be streamed on the company's website and YouTube channel, if you have an Apple TV, iPhone, or iPad, as past events have suggested, WWDC 2023 keynote will also be available on the TV app.

But aside from the formality of scheduling the WWDC keynote, we can get down to the meat of the matter, which is Apple's next big event.

Those looking for hidden meaning will be disappointed with this WWDC 2023 invitation. The invitation reads "Developing Swiftly" and is accompanied by a silhouette of a bird (known as the logo for Apple's Swift programming app). In other words, Apple is highlighting the kind of developer tools that are very likely to be the focus of attention at conferences attended by developers.

This is not much material for those expecting Apple to unveil its long-awaited VR/AR headset, which is said to be in development at the company, at the WWDC 2023 keynote. The headset, which is rumored to be called the Apple Reality Pro, is expected to get a lot of time on stage at WWDC 2023 to show exactly what Apple is capable of before the product is likely to be released later this year. However, the keynote invitation does not offer any hints about mixed reality.

Furthermore, WWDC is where Apple traditionally previews upcoming software releases. We can expect previews of iOS 17, watchOS 10, macOS 14, and other software updates.

Stay tuned for our guide on how to live stream the WWDC 2023 keynote as more information becomes available in the two weeks leading up to WWDC. We will also be attending the show to bring you the latest information on what Apple plans to announce.
