Dyson takes another stab at the new 360VisNav and robot vacuum cleaner

After seven years of development, Dyson is bringing the Dyson 360 Vis Nav to the robot vacuum cleaner market.

The new Dyson 360 Vis Nav, which will be pre-launched in Australia, gets its name from its advanced 360-degree vision system that works with a high-level processor to map your home, detect dust, and identify problem areas that need special attention.

Combined with 26 additional sensors, the Dyson 360 Vis Nav avoids obstacles and detects distances to walls and furniture with amazing accuracy.

Powered by a newly designed 110,000 rpm Hyperdymium motor, the Dyson 360 Vis Nav delivers up to 65 air watts of suction power. According to Dyson, this is roughly six times the suction power of previous robot vacuums.

The Dyson 360 Vis Nav also has a D-shaped body with a flat front edge, which allows it to get into corners and along edges to pick up debris in places hard to reach with other rounded robot vacuums.

Inside its flat front edge is a triple-action brush bar, a hybrid of soft "fluffy" nylon for large debris, antistatic carbon fiber filaments for fine dust, and stiff nylon bristles for deep carpet It is.

On top of that, the right side of the Vis Nav has a soft silicone lip to suck up debris without damaging walls or baseboards.

While many vacuum cleaners spit out as much fine dust as they can fling up, the Dyson 360 Vis Nav has a HEPA filter (capable of capturing 99.99% of particles as fine as 0.1 micron), so it can deliver purified air.

The 360 Vis Nav has four suction modes: "Auto," which dynamically adjusts suction power based on the surface of the house and the amount of dust; "Quick," for tight spaces; "Quiet," which minimizes noise; and "Boost," which maximizes suction power.

The device's touch screen can be used to cycle through the suction modes, and the recently updated MyDyson app provides further control.

As for battery life, Dyson says the 360 Vis Nav can run for up to 50 minutes in auto mode, but only 5-8 minutes in boost mode. The good news is that the 360 Vis Nav can dock and recharge automatically. Thankfully, the 360 Vis Nav's bin can be removed and emptied with one hand.

Dyson's new device is arguably one of the most advanced robot vacuums we've seen, but it doesn't come cheap: the Dyson 360 Vis Nav has a launch price of A$2,399 (roughly $1,599/£1,285), and for a vacuum that doesn't empty automatically and has no mopping That's a hard price to swallow for a vacuum cleaner that doesn't empty automatically and has no mopping function. [The Dyson 360 Vis Nav will be available at Dyson stores starting May 25. It will be available in the US and UK later this year.
