Late last week, we heard news that Disney Plus and Hulu would be losing some content in the near future. At that point, however, it was not clear which content would be lost and when that would happen. Now, Deadline claims to know exactly what will be gone from these services and that it may begin next week.

This is all because Disney is trying to save $3 billion over the course of 2023. Pulling content from streaming services is designed to help them do that. It also allows Disney to sell the rights to other services to generate some revenue.

Deadline reports that on May 26, or exactly one week from today, a lot of content will be pulled from Disney Plus and Hulu. It is unclear if this is all that subscribers will lose in the near future, or if this is just the first wave of an ongoing fat-cutting plan.

The list itself is quite long, so it could be the former. It is unlikely to convince people to subscribe, especially since it consists mostly of cancelled TV shows, limited series, direct to streaming movies, and other content.

This is the content that is apparently being pulled.

This is a fairly long list of content, and Disney Plus certainly seems to be losing most of it compared to Hulu. It is also worth noting that most of this content is not the kind of content that would attract new subscribers.

"Artemis Fowl" is a good example, which was released to Disney Plus during the pandemic but was slaughtered by viewers and critics alike. In fact, its critical score on Rotten Tomatoes was only 8%, while its audience score was 19%.

Similarly, many TV shows have already been cancelled, including Turner & Hooch and The Mysterious Benedict Society. Willow," which may or may not be canceled depending on who you ask, does not appear to have a particularly bright future now that it has been pulled from Disney's library.

It is also not certain what future these shows have; content pulled from HBO Max ultimately goes to free, ad-supported streaming services such as Freevee, Roku, and Pluto TV. It makes sense for Disney to sell the streaming rights and bring in more money on top of whatever cost-saving measures they can offer by pulling the content.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens. Thankfully, the best Disney Plus TV shows and the best Hulu shows will probably continue to exist for the foreseeable future.
