OnePlus V Fold Specs Leak - Here's how to fight Pixel Fold and Galaxy Z Fold5:

Some purported specs of the OnePlus V Fold have been released by 91Mobiles in collaboration with leaker Yogesh Brar, giving us our first glimpse of this mysterious new foldable.

According to the report, the OnePlus V Fold looks a lot like the Oppo Find N2 and more specifically the Find N3, the upcoming successor of the same model. With display, camera, and battery specs all listed in the report, the V Fold is beginning to look like it could be a valid challenger to the newly announced Google Pixel Fold and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.

To begin with, the OnePlus V Fold/Oppo Find N3 will likely be a medium-sized fold with a book-style hinge and an 8-inch, 120Hz inner display. This would match the style and refresh rate of the Pixel Fold, and perhaps the Galaxy Z Fold 5 as well, but the V Fold would be larger than these two 7.6-inch models. However, the V Fold will be larger than these two 7.6" models. Hopefully, it will be a wide outer display that is easy to use even when folded.

Even better than the larger display, the OnePlus V Fold will use the Oppo Find X6 camera. If OnePlus were to use all of the Find X6's cameras on the V Fold, it would have a 50MP main, 50MP ultrawide, 50MP telephoto (2.8x zoom), and 32MP selfie shooter. [However, 91Mobiles claim to have a 48MP ultrawide camera and a 32MP telephoto camera, as well as a 20MP front selfie camera and a 32MP inner selfie camera. Presumably, only the main camera and one of the selfie cameras will feature the Find X6's sensor.

Still, this could be trouble for the Pixel Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 5. The Pixel Fold will use a 50MP main camera, while the Z Fold will likely again use a 50MP sensor, but an ultra-wide angle camera and telephoto camera, selfie camera are expected to have a smaller resolution than the equivalent cameras on the OnePlus foldable. Of course, megapixels are not everything, but along with sensor size, aperture size, and effective post-processing, they will certainly help image quality.

The last spec detail given in the report is said to be a 4,805 mAh battery for the OnePlus V Fold. This is larger than the Galaxy Z Fold 4's 4,400 mAh battery, but slightly smaller than the Pixel Fold's 4,821 mAh battery; given the Google Pixel family's historic poor performance in battery tests, such a small capacity difference is unlikely to mean a significant increase in battery life for the Pixel Fold, and perhaps the V Fold could still be the battery life champion among foldables.

91Mobiles and Blar expect the OnePlus V Fold to launch in the third quarter of this year, as OnePlus teased months ago and subsequent rumors have confirmed. They also said there could be a OnePlus V Flip model to compete with the Galaxy Z Flip 5, but they do not know when that will appear. However, it is likely to be based on the Oppo Find N2 Flip or its likely successor, the Oppo Foldable.

Foldables have been steadily developing over the past few years, but with Google and soon OnePlus entering the market, both the Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 have a bumper crop of upgrades on notice, although in the US and UK a meaningful alternative to Samsung's Galaxy Z foldable We will finally have an option. By the end of the year, we could see some major shifts in the best foldable phone pages, and frankly, we can't wait to see how it plays out.
