Apple Announces WWDC2023 Schedule - What to Expect

Apple has announced the full event schedule for WWDC 2023. The opening keynote will begin at 10:00 a.m. (1:00 p.m. EDT) on June 5 at Apple Park in Cupertino, California.

The day's schedule is full of opportunities for developers, but all eyes will be on the morning keynote: in addition to getting a first look at iOS 17, watchOS 10, and other refreshed software versions, Apple is expected to make several major hardware announcements as well.

The mixed reality headset will open up a whole new category for Apple, and we got to see a preview of the device and its applications during the WWDC keynote. Despite many reports and rumors, there is still much mystery as to what Apple's debut headset will offer.

Besides the main event, the WWDC schedule (shared by Paul Hudson via 9to5Mac) has some interesting slots: a "Meet the Teams" opportunity, an optional tour of the Apple Park facilities, followed by a special evening dinner, apparently There is, apparently, a special evening dinner. According to a message to invited developers, the day will conclude with activities that are "not to be missed."

The festivities do not end on Monday. On Tuesday, developers will be invited to sessions in the dedicated Developer Center. What will be discussed in these special sessions remains to be seen, but if a mixed reality headset is eventually announced, it would not be surprising to see a focus on AR and VR in those sessions.

The headset, rumored to be the Reality Pro, will require its own software, just like Apple's other hardware. How that software will integrate with the rest of Apple's ecosystem also needs to be confirmed.

Since WWDC is a developer event, it is possible that an M3 chip will be announced. Furthermore, rumors of a 15-inch MacBook Air with an M2 chip and a new Mac Pro are piling up, especially now that there seems to be no more events before WWDC.

If anything, this schedule announcement is a reminder that the countdown to WWDC 23 has begun. It won't be long before we find out what Apple has in store for us in terms of both software and hardware.
