It measures 8.2 x 10.6 x 18.1 inches and weighs 17.8 pounds. It is on the heavy side, although not so heavy that it cannot be moved when needed. On the positive side, its weight and shape make it unlikely that it will accidentally tip over or cross a surface during use. The Super Q is designed with a wide base and a heavy bottom, so that when preparing food, the feet stay in place, even when fully rotated.

In our tests, we used a recipe that combined protein powder, oat milk, frozen bananas, frozen blueberries, and strawberries. The design of the Super Q's blade was found to be particularly adept at voraciously pulverizing ingredients in seconds, pulling them from top to bottom in a mesmerizing vortex effect. Furthermore, the intermittent tempo of "2 seconds fast, 10 seconds fast" is more effective at completely blending the ingredients than a full rotation. I made smoothies using both the full-size jug and the smaller portable container, and personally preferred the former because of its wider opening, which makes it easier to add ingredients. Both tasted equally good.
In our hummus-making test, Super Q made what we thought was the closest thing to a commercial dip. It was so smooth in texture that we came back for more with crackers (to be exact, of course). Even when blending chickpeas, tahini, garlic, spices, and olive oil to make hummus, only a very small amount of chalkiness remained, and Super Q did not become our favorite. The Super Q continued to impress in other tests, crushing ice cubes into fluffy snow in just one minute and turning rolled oats and water into sweet, creamy non-dairy milk. The latter had a creamy consistency similar to real 2% dairy milk, a better oat milk than store-bought, and was delicious on cereal, added to smoothies, or drunk on its own.
With only nine buttons and one speed dial, the Super Q is easy and intuitive to use. Five buttons on the bottom share the pulse and ice cream speeds, while the other four buttons are dedicated to smoothies, green smoothies (vegetable), frozen desserts, and soups, respectively The 1800-watt motor can accelerate the Super Q's blades up to 186 mph . This is fast enough to turn a piece of butternut squash or a potato and leek into a steaming hot soup.
One of the reasons we rated the Super Q the best overall home blender is that it is quiet in operation, no matter what you put in it. Filled with four cups of water, set to maximum speed, and measured from a foot away with a portable sound level meter, the Breville blender registered a noise level of 93.7 dBA, the quietest of all the models tested. When the blender was set to low speed with other non-liquid ingredients, the noise was noticeably quieter and did not become bothersome after extended use.

The thick-walled 68-ounce jug is made of BPA plastic and has red measurements printed across two sides of the container. The jug features a fairly pronounced spout that allows for easy and precise pouring, especially for smoothies and soups. However, liquid tends to accumulate in the spout and can drip unintentionally before pouring. On the one hand, we appreciate the solid seal that Breville has applied to the Super Q. However, the ingredients sometimes splattered and stuck to the inside of the lid during blending, causing a few drops of smoothie to splash onto the counter before pouring. In short, when the lid is removed, it gets messy. Thankfully, the care of the Breville Super Q blender is one of the best we tested. The automatic wash cycle button is very effective at using a small amount of water to wash away any splattered residue from the sides and bottom of the jug, as well as all the nooks and crannies on the underside of the lid and spout. For thicker recipes, such as hummus, the included Hellas scraper made it easy to completely empty the jug before using the wash cycle. In most cases, however, it was nearly as easy to hand wash the blender jug with a small amount of soap and water and a sponge, especially after preparing a recipe with a lot of liquid, such as a fruit smoothie.
Another commendable detail that sets Breville's Super Q apart from the competition is the thoughtfully designed integrated power cord management. Nothing is more annoying than an extra cord snaking from a kitchen appliance that must be placed above the display. Breville has designed the Blender Base to allow the 32.5-inch long power cord to be pushed into the blender base, which is only 7 inches long when fully retracted. While not as easy as a power cord that can be pulled out with the press button on a canister vacuum cleaner, it is still fairly easy to push the cord back into the base and even easier to pull out when you need a little more length to the outlet.
The Breville Super Q Blender was our top choice for best blender. It has a quiet motor and is powerful enough to handle a variety of ingredients, including iced drinks, smoothies, soups, dips, and non-dairy milk. An additional to-go container is a welcome bonus for those who need to take their smoothies home in the morning, leaving the main jug available for others to use.
