Peacock price hike just announced - Here's how much more you'll pay

Peacock Raises Prices for First Time Since Streaming Service Launched in Summer 2020 Joining a Crowd of Streaming Services that Have Recently Raised Prices, Including Netflix, Disney Plus, Max, Paramount Plus, and Apple TV Plus

Peacock, Inc.

The price increase will take effect almost immediately for new Peacock subscribers and on August 17 for existing users of monthly plans; Peacock Premium is up $1 per month to $5.99. Premium Plus, which is virtually ad-free and includes episode downloads and live NBC broadcasts, will increase $2 per month to $11.99. Subscribers to annual plans are exempt until the end of their term, at which point these fees will also increase.

Peacock had 22 million subscribers in March, up more than 60% from the same month last year. However, it is still operating at a loss, and the streaming industry as a whole is going through a restructuring that is focused on revenue and not so much on subscriber growth.

As a result, nearly all streaming services raised their fees last year. Last month, Paramount Plus implemented a rate increase for its newly revamped Paramount Plus with Showtime.

Peacock was named the best value streaming service in the 2023 Tom's Guide Awards because it held up longer than other services.

Peacock is still a good value, even though it discontinued its Peacock Free option last year. As stated by company owner Comcast, since the service's inception, it has streamed exclusive Universal Filmed Entertainment Group movies, next-day episodes of NBC and Bravo, streaming channels from Hallmark and Reelz, and sports and live news, and more than 80,000 hours of content have been added to the site.

Peacock has been flying by the seat of its pants lately thanks to original programming such as "Poker Face," "Traitors," and "Mrs. Davis"; Peacock's best shows are worth a quick look, and "We Are Lady Parts" and "Rutherford Falls" are highly recommended. In addition, the service draws on NBCUniversal's extensive catalog, allowing it to stream "The Office," "Parks and Recreation," and the "Real Housewives" series. In addition, due to the oddity of streaming rights, Peacock also allows Yellowstone to be viewed online.

In addition, Peacock also offers live sports, an area where the mighty Netflix is still trying to catch up. Peacock has NFL soccer, Premier League soccer, tennis, golf, cycling, and the Olympics, not to mention the WWE, all of which are available on its website.
