[After weeks of waiting, we finally know when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be available for streaming on Disney Plus. And that's good news for avid Marvel fans eager to see it again. It won't be long until the third film in this motley crew is available on popular streaming services.

Disney has announced that "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" will arrive on Disney Plus on Wednesday, August 2. This comes less than a month after the film premiered on video-on-demand platforms such as Amazon, Apple TV, and Google Play, and less than three months after its May 5 theatrical release. The film's Disney Plus debut will be followed by a physical release on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra on August 1.

A 60-day gap between a Marvel film's theatrical release and its Disney Plus debut is becoming increasingly common. Last year, "Doctor Strange: The Madness Multiverse," "Thor: Love and Thunder," and "Black Panther" were released: so was "Ant-Man and the Wasp": so was "Quantumania" earlier this year.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3," the conclusion to James Gunn's trilogy, follows a ragtag crew of space-faring ruffians as they deal with the aftermath of the events of "The Avengers: Avengers/Endgame" and, even more important than the galaxy They must rally to protect something even more important than the galaxy: their own people. Billed as the Guardians' last hurrah, the film is a surprisingly emotional sci-fi adventure, but it also retains the franchise's trademark hilarious comedy.

While several recent Marvel Cinematic Universe projects have faced lukewarm reviews, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" bucked the trend with a strong response from critics and audiences alike. The film currently holds a high score of 83% on the critics' aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes, with an even more impressive 94% from audiences. This is one of the highest scores an MCU film has received in the past four years, amid talk of a post-Endgame slump.

The trilogy was particularly praised for its deeper exploration of Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper), who was more of a supporting character in the previous "Guardians" film. The changing relationship between Peter "Star-Lord" Quill (Chris Pratt) and Garamola (Zoe Saldana) is another highlight. Furthermore, the satisfying ending, while bidding farewell to the current team, leaves enough room for the group to inevitably return somewhere down the road.

Elsewhere in the ongoing MCU, the latest TV show, Secret Invasion, is currently airing weekly on Disney Plus. Its fifth episode is scheduled to hit the streaming service on Wednesday, July 19, with the finale coming just a week later. And later this year, "The Marvels" will hit theaters on November 10, a sequel to 2019's "Captain Marvel," featuring the characters of Wandervision and Ms. Marvel, which will likely not appear on Disney Plus until early 2024.
