Netflix has canceled "Warrior Nun," but the show is not dead yet. In a bit of a surprise, the series, which had been defended by a vocal army of Internet fans, is being resurrected. Just when and ...... The question is where.

The series is an adaptation of Ben Dunn's comic book series Warrior Nun Areala, in which Alba Baptista plays Ava Silva, a 19-year-old who (like Warrior Nun itself) has returned from the dead. Upon arrival, she learns that her resurrection has a purpose: she must fight demons on Earth.

Warrior Nun showrunner Simon Barry took to Twitter yesterday (June 28) to share some good news with fans of the show. Specifically, he wrote: "Thanks to your voices, your passion, and your amazing efforts, #WarriorNun is back and it's going to be more EPIC than you can imagine. More details to follow! Coming soon! Thank you!"

Yes, it is nice to hear that Warrior Nun is "coming back," but doesn't that mean some service saved it? The lack of specifics is a bit unusual, but for Warrior Nun fans, all news is good news. [If "Warrior Nun" is coming back to Netflix, the announcement will be more obvious. Then again, anything goes in streaming these days, as HBO's "Westworld" is only available on free streaming services.

Warrior Nun's resurrection comes six months after its December termination, and I remember when I tried to help bring Warrior Nun back to life. I thought their motto, "NETFLIX CORRECT YOUR MISTAKE," was cheeky and funny, so I joined the chorus.

I soon learned that the fans wanted more from me than mere single participation. All joking aside, it looks like they won.

This is also reminiscent of the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut feature campaign that actually bore fruit in the form of a full direct-to-HBO Max release of Zack Snyder's "Justice League". And it all gives future fans a blueprint for how to campaign to prove public demand for a series deemed unworthy of production.
