21 Paramount Plus show Just Disappeared — Here's What's Out

Twenty-one shows and two movies disappeared from streaming services today (June 27). This follows four high-profile cancellations, two of which were removed before this latest cull.

The news comes from TVLine and focuses on the most high-profile disappearance: Inside Amy Schumer, a sketch comedy series that debuted its fifth season last year. While no official news of the cancellation has yet emerged, it is not difficult to interpret the removal as a sign of its eventual demise.

While none of the excluded shows or movies are among Paramount Plus' best shows or movies, the silent dismissal must still sting for fans. This is the latest moment in which the streaming service's offerings have been cut; previous decisions at Max (the best streaming service) were tied to a reduction in the cost of housing content, including royalties.

If you read the full list of Paramount Plus shows that have been taken down, you will notice that the service has removed much children's content produced on Nickelodeon and other platforms. Two films, "Fantasy Football" and "Snow Day," were also removed from Nickelodeon.

Paramount Plus does not regularly publish a list of content coming and going, so it is possible that some of the following shows are gone as part of the monthly content changes that are commonplace on Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, and Max.

Just a few days ago, news broke that four major Paramount Plus shows had been hit with the cancellation axe: The Game, Grease: The Game, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, Queen of the Universe, Star Trek: Prodigy. Pink Ladies" and "Prodigy" are no longer available online.

The big message sent to viewers and creators is that streaming services have zero permanence. If a show or movie does not have a strong enough audience to give the service sufficient reason to house it, it will be dropped. That's why I bought HBO's phenomenal single-season series "Station Eleven" on 4K Blu-ray.
