The iPhone 15 handsets will be produced in extra large quantities thanks to bold sales forecasts, IT Home reports.

Unfortunately, not only will more iPhones be produced than usual, but the new models may also be priced higher than before. With rumors of price increases of up to $200 for some models, the decision to upgrade will be more difficult for many.

It goes without saying that all iPhone models sell well. However, Apple seems to expect a bumper year of sales once the iPhone 15 arrives, especially for the basic iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models.

According to Barclays analyst figures, the iPhone 15 could sell about 89 million units in its first year, instead of the estimated 78 million units achieved by the iPhone 14. If Apple's analysts predict a similar increase in numbers, it is reasonable to expect that Apple would want all possible help in manufacturing the handset before its official launch.

Part of this increase in projected sales may be due to the fact that many iPhone users are holding off on changing their phones.

Among the many rumors about the iPhone 15 series, the expected notable changes include a USB-C port replacing Apple's familiar Lightning connector, cutouts for the 48MP main camera and Dynamic Island camera on all models, and the Pro model's groundbreaking 3nm A17 chipset and new titanium body. Additionally, Apple's first telephoto camera will be on the iPhone 15 Pro Max and may have enhanced zoom capabilities. None of this is certain, however, until we see Apple say so on stage at the next Apple event.
