The Apple product line—up has just flipped - Vision Pro2, Apple Watch9, M3Pro MacBook Pro, OLED iPad Pro, etc.

Apple's Vision Pro headset has been several years in the making. Now that we've seen this headset and know what to expect from it when it goes on sale next year, it's time to look forward to everything else Apple has planned between now and the end of next year. But thanks to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, we have a pretty good idea of what the company's upcoming roadmap will include.

Apple still needs to get the Vision Pro onto Apple Store shelves, but there are still a few months to go before that happens. In other words, there is work to be done. The hardware is more or less ready, but the software still needs tweaking. Features like typing in the air, Eyesight, and the adaptation of Apple's own iPad app to the headset are among those that need some work.

Apple is also said to have developed a second strap for the headset after testers reported problems with the headset's weight after a few hours. However, this headset may be sold as an optional accessory rather than being included with the $3,500 headset.

The only known release date for the headset is "early 2024." However, Gurman notes that this could be around May, which would put the release date at odds with the new M3 Mac, which is rumored to be available in mid-2024. He notes that it would not look good for a headset to appear so close to a Mac with a cheaper, more powerful chip.

While the VisionPro is (rightfully) getting a lot of attention, there are still other Apple products, and I'm not just talking about the iPhone 15 series, which will be released this fall.

According to Gurman, there are three Apple Watch models that will be released at the same time as the iPhone 15 this year. These include two Apple Watch series 9 models and an updated version, the Ultra. While this is not a huge surprise, we had heard rumors that the Apple Watch Ultra 2 might not appear until 2024. So it's nice to know that the rugged Apple smartwatch could be refreshed every year. Presumably the two Apple Watch 9 models are different sizes of the same device, as usual.

Gurman also claims that three MacBook pro models, including a 13-inch MacBook Pro M3, will appear in the near future. In other words, Apple does not seem to agree that the MacBook Air 15-inch makes that particular product irrelevant; upgraded versions of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Pro and M3 Max chips are also expected, which should come as no This will not come as a shock.

The Macbook Air will come in two models: upgraded 13- and 15-inch models and a 24-inch iMac; Gurman has heard that a 30-inch iMac may also be in the early stages of development.

Two iPad Pros with OLED screens have been rumored as well, but Gurman did not provide details on what else might be offered. given how long the OLED iPad has been rumored, it is likely that the previous model will become obsolete in A successor to the M1 iPad Air is also said to be in the works, but it is not known when this one will arrive or what kind of chip it will have.

Garman said that early development has begun on AirPods Pro 3, a new Apple TV with improved hardware specs, and possible new home kits such as smart displays.

According to Garman, work is still being done on the second generation, despite the work needed for Vision Pro. However, details are rather scarce and there is not much that can be said about the headset at this stage.

The second generation headset is said to include features that Gurman initially reported would be included in the Vision Pro. These include the ability to view multiple Mac desktop screens at once, virtual fitness content as part of Fitness Plus, and the option for multiple users to use digital personas in FaceTime meetings.

It has been previously rumored that a second generation Vision Pro headset could come at a lower price point, making it more accessible to the masses. I hope so, but I certainly envision a time when Apple releases two new headsets, one a low-cost option and the other a super-premium product with the latest and greatest technology, a true Vision Pro 2 alongside the Vision SE.

According to Garman, the second generation Vision Pro will not be available until 2025 at the earliest. But as he points out, there seems to be no shortage of products for people to enjoy in the meantime.

Just be aware that not all of these products will be as described, as plans can and do change; Gurman usually has a very good track record when it comes to insider information, but he does not believe that Apple will change its plans in the next few months. However, we cannot rule out the possibility that Apple will change its own plans in the coming months. However, as we get closer to the launch of these products, hopefully other leaks and rumors will leak more information that confirm or contradict what we know so far.
