Roxy Season 2 trailer just fell - and the God of Mischief is back in full force

Like Loki's naughty illusions, the trailer for "Loki" Season 2 has been released very early. Not only does this new trailer feature our beloved Loki (Tom Hiddleston), but it also brings back a variant of Loki named Sylvie, played by Sofia di Martino, and much more.

The larger story of this trailer is an ever-dividing multiverse, which is visualized by Loki being pulled through time. This god and his TVA sidekick Mobius (Owen Wilson) learn that this is called "time travel" when they have a chat with Mobius' buddy OB (Ke Huy Quan of Everywhere All At Once fame).

Check it out:

Loki's time jump was not supposed to happen, and it seems to be tied to "utter destruction," and Kung the Conqueror (Jonathan Major). Yes, saving the timeline/multiverse is the challenge this season, and "time is running out."

And when Loki thinks the gang has to make a big decision about who to save and who not to save, we are actually watching Kang Valiant Victor Timely. Timely, an old-time inventor, tells them to "make the hard choice" just before chaos ensues in his time. One of these is a giant Miss Minute tearing things apart.

Then many dimensional doors open in the warehouse and a great battle begins. Finally, Mobius ribs Loki for being a little too conspicuous with his own illusions.

Tom Hiddleston's Loki is still not a character to linger on, even after his death at the hands of Thanos in "Infinity War" and his return as another variant in "Loki Season 1."

And having him and his sidekick Mobius reappear to continue their time-hopping adventures? Seems like a surefire way to deliver a fun show that Marvel's "Secret Invasion" didn't (at least based on my own experience and that of many others I've talked to).

On the other hand, the multiverse feels like a concept that has already been played out. The "crazy multiverse" of "Doctor Strange" used the multiverse as a cheap fanservice to a character they quickly killed off, and all that is going on with the terrible CGI in the movie "The Flash", right?

Season 1 of "Loki" scored points with audiences by giving this Loki a chance for redemption and self-realization. I am curious to see if this new season will offer a story that doesn't simply rely on a sci-fi gimmick.
