Prime Video superhero show is back - 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The hottest superhero show on Prime Video right now is not "The Boys," but its spin-off "Gen V" has been a huge success since its debut a few months ago. Instead, it's "Invincible," an animated series with a humble name and seemingly mundane heroes.

Invincible's highly anticipated second season received a 100% rating out of 21 critic reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. While the first season has been hovering around the 98% mark since it was first streamed in 2021, the second season seems to have surpassed the original in some surprising ways.

Considering these numbers, critics agree on one thing: we should be watching this top-ranked show until 2024 (or even 2025), when few new seasons of familiar shows will begin, and now that "Invincible" is back in vogue, the main characters are It's the perfect opportunity to see him struggle with life as a teenager and a fledgling superhero all at once. Now that Season 2 of [Invincible] is available on Prime Video, here's everything you need to know about this superhero show that earned a perfect score.

"Invincible" is the second television adaptation by Robert Kirkman of "The Walking Dead" fame and is based on his own comic book series of the same name. As soon as it premiered on Prime Video, it was quickly renewed for two additional seasons.

While the story is certainly about superheroes, it is much more than that. Invincible is a coming-of-age story about a teenager named Mark Grayson (voiced by Steven Yeun from The Walking Dead). In many ways, he is a normal guy, getting through high school as best he can and trying to catch the eye of the girl of his dreams. Only one thing sets him apart from the rest of his classmates--he is the son of one of the world's most popular heroes, Omni Man (J.K. Simmons).

Mark reaches an age where his own superhero abilities begin to manifest and he must learn how to control them. Eventually he earns the title of invincible. But things begin to change when Mark learns the true nature of Omniman's powers and his true origins - especially when one of the biggest plot twists in the entire show is revealed.

Just as Superman is looked up to by everyone as a model of justice, the Omniman is thought of in the same light. But what if he is the opposite of what everyone believes he is, and Mark has unwittingly grown up to be just like him? The revelation of these heavy facts makes "Invincible" more than an ordinary superhero show.

At the end of Invincible's first season, Omniman was missing after a fistfight and drag-out with his son. It is now left to Invincible himself and the Guardians of the Globe, the heroes left to protect the Earth after its most powerful members have fled.

While Season 1 explored Mark's upbringing and coming to terms with the powers he craved for most of his adolescence, Season 2 will focus on what happens after he discovers his father's true lineage and personality.

Kirkman told Entertainment Weekly that the overarching storyline of the series will depict "the growth and change that Mark goes through as he transitions from teenager to adult and possibly into old age." Season 2 will show him "maturing and growing up a little bit."

Critics unanimously praised Invincible, with RogerEbert.com's Lendy Jones calling it "one of the best superhero series on television." "

Radio Times' Nicola Austin questioned the show's "rocky start," but "balancing poignant character-centric storytelling with a greater focus on the overarching threat of the intergalactic planetary conquerors, the Virtrumans, while keeping its feet on the The film is praised for "solidifying its footing".

Meanwhile, The Verge's Charles Pulliam-Moore is pleased that this season "gives a sense of the weight of things," i.e., it moves forward from the events of the first season, before exploring them further and highlighting "how heavy things have become."

Most critics seem to agree that the series succeeds in the difficult balancing act of continuing the series from a shocking place and establishing a new baseline. Described as "bigger, bolder, and bloodier than ever," it has also been praised as "a promising foundation for the rest of the season.

How will it resonate with fans after its official debut? We can only wait and see.
