13 New Movies and Shows to Watch This Weekend on Netflix, Hulu and More (Nov. 3-5)

November opens with a bang, bringing something for everyone looking for new movies and shows to watch this weekend, and with Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, and other top-notch streaming services in the onslaught of new releases, viewing options abound.

TV recommendations begin with two best-selling book adaptations, the World War II epic All the Light We Cannot See and Black Cake, the story of a family traveling around the world. Also premiering is producer Taylor Sheridan's upcoming western drama Lawmen: Bas Reeves

In film, Quiz Lady is a road trip comedy from Awkafina and Sandra Oh, while Fingernails explores the impact of technology on love.

Here's what to see this weekend.

Written by Anthony Dore, this World War II epic, already a Pulitzer Prize winner, is set in 1944 and follows Marie-Laure (Aria Mia Roberti), a blind French girl who sends secret radio messages offering hope to her Allied neighbors.

Flashbacks reveal that young Marie-Laure and her father, Daniel (Mark Ruffalo), fled German-occupied Paris with a precious diamond to prevent it from falling into Nazi hands. Father and daughter take refuge with a recluse uncle (Hugh Laurie) in Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure begins broadcasting. Werner Pfenner (Louis Hoffman), a teenage German radio operator, hears it and instead of reporting back to his superiors, he feels a deep connection to the voices coming from the speakers.
