Sarah Lancashire returns as famed American chef Julia Child in the second season of Julia. As her pioneering cooking show begins to air, Julia grapples with rising celebrity and what it means for her career and the future of her off-the-air relationships.

In the latest season, Julia and her devoted husband Paul return from their home in Simca, France, to find that her success has changed everything. Julia and her team must overcome production blunders, the White House, and threats from the past as they continue to lead women-led public television and confront social issues that are still prevalent today.

Premiered November 16 on Max

After being delayed since its summer debut, Season 2 of Rap Sh.t is finally here. Aida Osman and Camillion play an up-and-coming rap duo trying to make it in the music industry. Their career trajectory is similar to that of Miami's City Girls, JT and Jan Miami, who serve as co-executive producers.

Rap Sh.t's first season was an immediate hit. Critics praised the show as "hilarious" and "uplifting," and it received a coveted 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. As the second season begins, Shawna (Osman) and Mia (Camillion) find themselves at a pivotal point in their rap careers as they must decide whether to stay true to themselves or comply with the demands of the music industry.

It is rare to find a sequel that rivals the original. But James Cameron's "Alien" may surpass its predecessor. Sigourney Weaver returns as the tenacious Ellen Ripley, the sole survivor of a crew encounter with the fearsome Xenomorph aliens. [When she wakes up after decades of being trapped in a capsule in an escape shuttle, she learns that her employers at the Weyland-Yutani Corporation have begun building a settlement on top of what is undoubtedly a full-fledged Xenomorph colony. When her warnings are met with skepticism, Ripley must once again suit up, investigate why the settlements have suddenly gone quiet, and kick the Xenomorphs to the curb.

Streaming begins November 1 on Max

This is not the only sci-fi classic debuting on Max this month. The original "Dune" (1984) is also streaming, but first-time viewers should know that it is much, much trippier than the Timothée Chalamet remake. That's because it's directed by David Lynch (Twin Peaks) and doesn't shy away from the, shall we say, more inspired sci-fi elements of Frank Herbert's original novel.

The overall story will still be familiar. Thousands of years in the future, Paul Atreides (Kyle MacLachlan), heir to the ruling family of a planetary empire, finds his life changed forever when his family gains control of the desert planet Arrakis. The planet is the sole source of one of the most precious substances in the universe: spice. As various factions vie for control, Paul finds himself at the center of a galaxy-spanning political power play, emerging as a leader and potential savior.

A beloved modern holiday classic. Elf" is the bizarre tale of an orphaned baby who enters Santa's sack on Christmas Eve and is raised by the elves of the North Pole. Buddy (Will Ferrell), who believed he was an elf until adolescence, is shocked when it is revealed that he is actually human.

Shortly after this shocking discovery, Buddy embarks on a mission to the far country of New York to meet his father, Walter Hobbs (James Caan), who has earned himself a spot on the naughty list. Along the way, Buddy tries to spread Christmas cheer to all, but encounters a department store clerk (Zooey Deschanel) who is equally lacking in Christmas spirit. Often cited as one of the best Christmas movies of all time, "Elf" is an essential Christmas film. - Rory Mellon
