Get ready for a great week of new movies streaming on Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming services. The end of the spooky season unleashes the last wave of horror films as "The Nun II" appears on Max and "The Exorcist" comes to Video on Demand: also, "The Exorcist: Believer" is available on Video on Demand.

This week's new streaming films include some not-so-scary ones, such as a documentary on Yogi Berra and the David Lynch/Oz connection. Also available on Netflix, though not horror, is the drama "Pain Hustlers," starring Emily Blunt and Chris Evans, an alarming film about the opioid epidemic.

Some of the films are newly available in digital releases and can be purchased for a premium price, while for others, all you need is the right streaming subscription. The opioid epidemic has spawned a slew of fiction, including Hulu's award-winning miniseries "Dopesick" and Netflix's "Painkiller" earlier this year. Pain Hustler stars Emily Blunt as a blue-collar single mother caught up in the opioid crisis out of desperation.

After losing her job, Liza Drake runs into Pete Brenner (Chris Evans), a pharmaceutical sales representative. She takes a job at his start-up company, which sets her on a financially lucrative but morally dubious path. As she deals with her increasingly deranged boss (Andy Garcia) and her daughter's (Chloe Coleman) deteriorating medical condition, Liza realizes the devastation her company is causing and is forced to rethink her choices.

Director David Gordon Green, who rebooted the "Halloween" series, turns his attention to the "Exorcist" films.Believer is the sixth installment, but it is a direct sequel to the 1973 original and a new intended to be the first in a trilogy.

Starring Leslie Odom Jr. as Victor Fielding, a photographer who, along with his pregnant wife, is caught in a devastating earthquake in Haiti. He is forced to choose saving his unborn child over his wife; 13 years later, his teenage daughter Angela (Lydia Jewett) and her friend (Olivia Markham) disappear into the woods. When evil begins to occur, Victor seeks out the only survivor who has witnessed something similar before: Chris McNeil (Ellen Burstyn).

This documentary uses archival footage and interviews to present one of the world's greatest entertainment stories. Anthony Field, Murray Cook, Greg Page, and Jeff Fatt, all dressed in blue, red, yellow, and purple costumes, were beloved by children around the world for their sunny demeanor and catchy lyrics.

The music industry's most famous scam comes under the spotlight in a documentary about the infamous pop duo Milli Vanilli. Robert "Rob" Pilatus and Fabrice "Fab" Morvan rose to stardom with their hit song "Girl You Know It's True," which won them a Grammy for Best New Artist in 1990. Then it all came crashing down in a mouth-watering scandal. This documentary, with interviews with Pilatus and Morvan, delves into the demise of this dream.

Assistant director Kitty Greene and star Julia Garner reunite in this psycho-thriller inspired by a true story. Americans Hannah (Garner) and Liv (Jessica Henwick) are best friends backpacking in Australia. Seeking adventure, Liv convinces Hannah to accept a temporary bartending job at a pub called the Royal Hotel in a remote mining town in the outback. The bar's owner, Billy (Hugo Weaving), and his many male patrons soon unsettle the young women.

David Lynch's Roman Empire is the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. He himself said, "Not a day goes by that I don't think about The Wizard of Oz." Using these words as a starting point, this documentary explores how Victor Fleming's Technicolor epic inspired and influenced Lynch's work, from his first short, "Alphabet" (1969), to the revival of "Twin Peaks: The Return" (2017). Each of the document's six chapters is narrated by a different filmmaker or critic, offering their own take on Lynch's idiosyncratic surrealist style.

"If you can't imitate him, don't imitate him," Yogi Berra once said. So this documentary does not imitate, but instead shines a spotlight on the man himself. Director Sean Mullin has crafted a love letter to the Hall of Fame catcher who was the mainstay of the New York Yankees championship teams of the 1950s. The documentary posits that Lawrence Peter Berra was one of the greatest players in baseball history, but was underrated because of his small stature and prominent personality. He is "Yogi Sum," as in the title of this film or the one quoted earlier. But with its charm and amusing catchphrases, Bella could really play ball.

A terrifying horror game is transformed into a nightmare-fueled film from the Blumhouse production of Get Out, M3GAN, and The Purge. Mike Schmidt (Josh Hutcherson) is a troubled security guard who starts working the night shift at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, an old family entertainment establishment. One night he discovers that the four animatronic mascots - Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy - have started moving and killing anyone who is there after midnight. What should have been an easy job turns into a desperate fight for survival. [In 1956, four years after the events of the previous film, Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) has settled into her new convent when she is ordered by the Cardinal to investigate the reappearance of the demon Valak (Bonnie Aarons). Unbeknownst to Irene, her friend Maurice (Jonas Bloke) has been possessed by Valak and has unwittingly brought her along on his journey. With the help of a skeptical Sister Debra (Storm Reid), Irene must confront Maurice and find a way to exorcise Valak forever.

True crime podcasts have been all the rage for a while now, as evidenced by the popularity and acclaim for Hulu's series Only Murders in the Building. Combining comedy, mystery, and crime, the film stars Kiersey Clemons as a bumbling college student who hosts a rarely listened-to true crime podcast. But when Jesse Wilcox (Alex Wolff), a popular college YouTube star, goes missing, Susie is determined to solve the case to boost the podcast. But things take a dark turn and Susie is in over her head.

Writer/director Demian Ruga made his name with the gory 2017 horror film Terrified. He returns with this relentlessly cruel and bleak epidemic thriller. Brothers Pedro (Ezequiel Rodriguez) and Jimmy (Demian Salomon) discover a local man possessed by a demon whose body is rotting away. Because of the "infection" that threatens their livestock, the brothers attempt to remove the man from their land. But their actions only spread the demonic plague throughout the region. It may be too late, but they must seek help from a "cleaner."
