Black Friday Deals and Stores - Here are the sales I'm looking out for

November is one of the busiest months for deals, and Target, Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart are just a handful of retailers expected to announce new Black Friday deals the moment Halloween ends.

This will be my 16th year covering Black Friday, and as the Deals Editor-in-Chief of Tom's Guide, it is an annual sale that I personally look forward to and recommend to friends and colleagues.

Keep in mind that some sales are confirmed, while others are not yet finalized. If so, here are my predictions and recommendations so that you can prepare for the epic November sale.

Amazon's Black Friday Preview Sale typically begins a week before Black Friday day. The sale starts with up to 70% off Alexa-powered devices. The official sale typically begins on Thanksgiving Day and lasts for 48 hours. Personally, I find that Amazon tends to offer the best deals on Apple Watches and TVs; new and popular products like the Apple Watch 9, Pixel 8, LG C3 OLED, and Samsung's Galaxy lineup are likely to see steep discounts.

Keep an eye out for Amazon's invite-only deals: at its Prime Day event in July, Amazon offered a 43-inch 4K Fire TV for $99. Earlier this month, it offered a 50-inch 4K Fire TV for $149, and we expect an even bigger invite-only deal to be announced in November. Best Buy will hold its first members-only Black Friday Preview next week. The sale will run from October 27 through October 29, exclusively for members of My Best Buy Plus ($49 annual membership fee) and My Best Buy Total ($179 annual membership fee). (See the My Best Buy Membership Primer for more details on pricing and benefits.)

Best Buy is one of my go-to stores for OLED TVs and Apple deals. Earlier this summer they sold a MacBook Air M2 for $899, and last November they set an OLED price record with a 48" LG A2 4K OLED TV for $569. These are the deals I expect from Best Buy in the future.

As a reminder, consumers will have access to Best Buy's preview information on October 30. Meanwhile, Best Buy will launch its official Black Friday promotion on November 17, with Cyber Monday beginning on November 26. (For more ways to save, see this week's Best Buy coupon code guide.)

Target has not confirmed any November sales. However, it has announced that it will offer "Deal of the Day" specials through December 24. It promises discounts on Apple, Nespresso, Dyson, and Nintendo. Without specific details, it's hard to know which items will be on sale, but it's a sale to keep an eye on every day. Most of the deals are for Target Circle members (it's free to join); you can join Target Circle at Target.com.

In addition, Target has added more than 27,000 Drive Up stalls, providing ample capacity during peak shopping season. This holiday season will also be the first holiday season that Target shoppers will be able to make returns and order Starbucks at Drive Up.

Finally, Target said it has added 10 sorting centers to its supply chain to offer shoppers more next-day delivery options. (For more ways to save, check out this week's Best Target Promo Code Guide.)

Walmart Deals for Days is a three-day event, which in the past has started on November 3 (Walmart has not confirmed a 2023 event). Walmart Plus members are usually the first to get Walmart holiday deals. In the past, deals have included Chromebooks starting at $87, Keurig coffee makers starting at $35, up to 50% off older generation iPhones, and toys starting at $6.

For those interested in joining Walmart Plus, last year Walmart reduced the price of membership to just $49 per year (50% off). Walmart already offered such a discount in July (in response to Prime Day) and will likely offer it again in November.
