Want to Buy a Ring Video Doorbell? Here's why you should wait until Black Friday.

If you're waiting to get your hands on one of the best video doorbells around, it pays to wait just a little longer. That's because right now there's a bit of a lull between Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday. It's not that there aren't already plenty of early Black Friday discounts, it's just that video doorbells, especially Ring video doorbells, are not currently on sale.

I know what makes a good video doorbell and what makes a good video doorbell, not only because I've covered smart home devices for years, but also because I've covered smart home deals for almost as long.

Now let's take a quick look at Ring's products and see how much you can save by waiting. If you can't wait, here are some video doorbells that are currently on sale.

One of Ring's overall best video doorbells, the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus offers head-to-toe video, package detection. Plus, the battery is removable, so you can buy a spare and have no downtime while charging.

Right now, the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus is $179 on Amazon, but we saw it drop to $129 during Prime Day.

The best value among Ring devices is the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd generation), which doesn't offer head-to-toe video, but does offer great 1080p images and luggage detection. This model can be used either hardwired or battery-powered, but the entire unit must be removed for charging. (The Ring Video Doorbell is currently priced at a very attractive $99, but this is another product to wait for.

If you are looking for the best wired-only Ring Video Doorbell, the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 is the way to go. It is small and slim, yet offers head-to-toe video, crisp images, and package detection. It also has a 3D view and a bird's-eye view, and displays a small map of where the person was walking in front of the camera so you can get a better idea of where he or she was.

At the moment, the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 is normally priced at $249 on Amazon; given that we've seen it drop to $149, this is definitely something to wait for.

None of the above video doorbells are on sale individually, but they are offered at a discount along with other Ring products. If you're looking to build a smart home, check out some of the deals here.
