New Xbox Game Pass deal offers one month of free usage for snacking

Microsoft has partnered with PepsiCo and Frito-Lay to reward gamers who fuel up on their favorite snacks: starting October 9, purchase a special package of Doritos, Mountain Dew, or Rockstar Energy Drink, and Xbox Game Pass You could win a free one-month code for Ultimate.

However, this promotion is limited to new subscribers. So even if you are or have been a subscriber to one of the best deals in the gaming industry today, you can still snag as many of these products as you want, but doing so does not mean you will get Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for free.

The labels on the qualifying snacks will list the brand names of Xbox's biggest games, such as "Starfield" and "Redfall". Once you get your code, visit DoritosDewRockstar.com to redeem your rewards: in addition to a free month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Xbox will also be offering a free month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, including Forza Motorsport's Magma racing suit and Sea of Thieves' chipped DLC content and in-game rewards like a tanker. Xbox says the "additional purchases and codes allow players to earn more points to spend in the online rewards marketplace." The promotion runs this week through December 29.

Game Pass Ultimate is the premium tier of Microsoft's monthly game delivery service, normally priced at $16.99 per month. For this price, you get access to over 100 Xbox games, ranging from first-party exclusives like "Halo Infinite" to third-party titles like "Guardians of the Galaxy."

Also available is Xbox Cloud Gaming, the premier cloud gaming streaming service, which allows users to sync saves across platforms, play native console games in the cloud, and streaming to phones, PCs, and consoles.

This summer, the price of Game Pass Ultimate jumped from $14.99 to $16.99. Nevertheless, it was not a big surprise that Microsoft would ask players to pay more. Subscription prices have been rising everywhere over the past few years, but Game Pass has remained stable despite a surge in the number of titles offered since its launch in 2017.
