Google Pixel 8 Pro Leak Reveals Design Changes I've Been Waiting For

The official launch of the Google Pixel 8 is just a few days away, but there are still opportunities for leaked information to circulate online. The latest comes from a Vietnamese leaks page on Facebook, with photos of what appears to be an actual black Pixel 8 Pro. These photos were also posted on X.

Given the plethora of Pixel 8 leaks that have occurred recently, what these images show is not particularly surprising. The phone itself appears to be consistent with all of the leaked renderings and images we have seen. However, it does seem certain that the Pixel 8 Pro will be available in a matte black finish.

Pixel fans have long been calling for a matte glass finish on Pixel phones. However, the only phone that has not had a glossy finish so far is the Google Pixel Fold, which, while nice, is not an ideal phone for many.

This means that other Pixel 8 devices, even if they come in colors other than black, will have a matte finish.

The design also features the same camera rubber as previous phones, including the camera cutouts that debuted on the Pixel 7 series. Similarly, there is an additional sensor below the camera flash, which is rumored to be a temperature sensor.

Of course, this is all pre-release and there is no guarantee that these photos are legitimate; Phone Arena notes that the bezels on the phones in the photos are not perfectly aligned. With this in mind, we are reminded that we should always be skeptical of leaks and rumors that appear online. Because we never know if the posters are trying to deceive us or not.

The Pixel 8 will be unveiled at the Made by Google event on October 4, less than a week away, and you can check out the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro hub for all the latest news and updates. can be found on the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro hubs.
