According to sources speaking to MacRumors, those who can't find or afford the iPhone 15 or iPhone 15 Pro may find the iPhone SE 4 worth the wait.

The successor to the iPhone SE 2022 is likely to have a body and display based primarily on those of the iPhone 14. Unfortunately, it does not appear to feature Dynamic Island, but other changes are expected.

For one thing, charging will be done through a USB-C port rather than a Lightning connector as in the original iPhone 14. Currently an iPhone 15-only feature, USB-C would be a welcome modernization for the iPhone SE, along with the much more modern look of the iPhone 14's housing compared to the iPhone 8 housing that the current iPhone SE uses. However, this is more likely to be Apple's compliance with the EU's Common Charging Law rather than an act of generosity.

Apple may also add an "action button" to the new SE, currently only found on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. iPhone 14 had a familiar mute switch, but with this year's premium iPhone After debuting it, Apple is likely to get serious about new customizable buttons over the next couple of years.

One negative change would be the camera. iPhone 14 had a main camera and an ultra-wide camera on the back, but the iPhone SE, which is based on it, will have only one main camera and may slightly change the design of the block that houses it. Possibly. However, expect the sensor to be at least 48 MP and offer the same 24 MP images and 2x zoom mode as the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro.
