iPhone 16 Pro Max release date prediction, price prediction and all leaked information

The iPhone 16 Pro Max is likely to arrive in the fall of 2024. Despite this, we are already starting to hear rumors about what the next iPhone flagship model might offer.

There is still much we do not know about the iPhone 16 Pro Max. In fact, Apple may end up calling this device the iPhone 16 Ultra. But we may see everything from an even larger display and new capture buttons to an even better main camera sensor.

Here's what we've heard so far about the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

It is too early to say for sure how much the iPhone 16 Pro Max will cost. However, given that the iPhone 15 Pro Max was just raised $100, we expect Apple to keep the price tag on it for at least another year. If so, the iPhone 16 Pro Max price could start at $1,199/£1,199/ A$2,199 for the 256GB model.

Apple typically announces new iPhones in early to mid-September, and the only time it hasn't done so in recent years was during the pandemic. Often the event is in the second or third week of the month, often on a Tuesday. [iPhone 16 Pro Max pre-orders will begin on Friday, September 13, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max release date may be September 20. However, this is only speculation.

Early rumors suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro Max may increase in size from 6.7" to 6.9" next year. If so, the 16 Pro Max would be the largest iPhone ever, slightly larger than the 6.8-inch Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

According to early CAD renderings, this would be 0.19" taller than the iPhone 15 Pro Max, but only 0.019" wider. This should mean that despite its increased size, the 16 Pro Max will still be comfortable and familiar to use. It is not ideal for those who don't like big phones, though.

We also heard speculation that Apple might hide the remaining Face ID sensor under the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max displays. This would reduce the cutout needed for the selfie camera to a single circular notch instead of the pill-shaped cutout on Dynamic Island. However, we may have to wait until 2025 and the launch of the iPhone 17 Pro to see this actually happen.

It is rumored that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max may feature an additional capacitive button in addition to the newly introduced Action button. The button, reportedly called the Capture button, will likely be useful for quickly capturing photos and videos.

Seeing as Apple is second-guessing the Pro iPhone to have a better chipset than the standard and Plus models, it is quite likely that Apple will do the same with the iPhone 16 series. This means that the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models will likely have an A18 chip, possibly the A18 Pro.

We don't know what this chip will look like, but reports already indicate that it will be slightly different from the A17 Pro. Apparently, Apple will use chips manufactured on TSMC's N3E process instead of the N3B used to manufacture the A17 Pro. This process is said to be more cost-effective and has higher yields but better performance and, unfortunately, lower efficiency.

It is also said that both iPhone 16 Pro models will have 8GB of RAM next year and may support Wi-Fi 7. This means that both models could be incredibly fast.

There have also been countless rumors over the past few years about Apple's implementation of a home-made 5G modem. Unfortunately, according to the latest information, this modem will not appear until 2025, and it appears that Qualcomm will remain a modem supplier for at least one more year.

There are only two iPhone 16 Pro Max rumors so far.

The focal length of the iPhone 16 Pro Max's telephoto lens is 300 mm, which is likely more than double the 120 mm focal length of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The 16 Pro Max is also said to have a 1/1.4" sensor, which is slightly larger than the iPhone 15 Pro Max's 1/1.28 sensor. This should allow the camera to capture more light and improve overall performance.

It is also reported that both iPhone 16 Pro models may have a 48 MP ultra-wide camera, which would be a significant performance boost over the current 12 MP lens.

The biggest question we have about the iPhone 16 Pro Max is whether there will be a Pro Max iPhone in 2024, or whether it will be replaced by the long-awaited iPhone Ultra.

There have been many rumors claiming that the iPhone Ultra could be released at the same time as the iPhone 15. It was also suggested that the Ultra could be a rebranded version of the Pro Max, rather than a "fifth iPhone." And to be fair, the iPhone 16 Ultra does roll off the tongue a bit more than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

According to Mark Gurman, a well-known Apple insider source, the iPhone Ultra could be released in 2024. It is unclear whether this will be a completely new kind of iPhone 16 or whether Apple will eventually ditch the Pro Max name; given the sheer number of rumors claiming the latter ahead of the iPhone 15 launch, we expect it to be it.

It is still very early to know much about what we should really expect in the iPhone 16 Pro Max development cycle. However, some rumors we have heard suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro Max could be an absolute beast.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max is said to feature a larger display, an even more powerful camera system, the long-awaited RAM increase, and yet another dedicated button Stay tuned for more iPhone 16 Pro Max rumors and leaks.
