With the start of fall, a number of new movies will be available this week on Netflix and Max. Some are subscription-based, while others are available for purchase or rental. [Gran Turismo," "The Meg 2 Trench," "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3," "Blue Beetle," and other late summer theatrical releases make their streaming debuts, including Netflix's eerie "Reptile" and Wes Anderson director's whimsical "The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar," will be joined by streaming exclusives such as.

Here are the top new films streaming this week.

Aspiring lawyer Jaime Reyes (Zorro MaridueƱa) returns to his hometown of Palmera City to find his family facing eviction. One day, he receives a job offer and obtains a "scarab," an ancient alien relic hidden inside a fast-food box.

The awakened scarab fuses with Jamie and equips him with a powerful exoskeleton. He must then take on high-tech assassins and other villains who attempt to recapture the scarab. In this adaptation of Roald Dahl's short story of the same name, Henry Sugar (Benedict Cumberbatch) is a gambler looking for his next big break. Through intense meditation, he develops the ability to see through cards and eventually see into the future. He heads to a casino and uses his newfound powers to win big money. The first "Meg" was a big, dumb, fun monster movie. It was a hit, so naturally a sequel was made.

This time, rescue diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) is helping scientists explore the deepest part of the Mariana Trench, where megalodons live. One voyage goes terribly wrong due to a malicious act of illegal mining. An explosion forces Jonas and his team to don exosuits to walk through the trench, where they encounter a terrifying creature. The megalodon then learns that its habitat is in danger of extinction and sets out to find a safe surface. ...... - KW

Netflix's latest gives TG's Malcolm McMillan a "True Detective" vibe, which bodes well for the crime thriller. Benicio del Toro stars as Detective Tom Nichols, whose reputation is ruined and he and his wife (Alicia Silverstone) are forced to relocate to a small town in Maine.

Tasked with investigating the murder of a real estate agent, Nichols confronts the main suspects: her boyfriend Will (Justin Timberlake), her ex-husband (Carl Glassman), or a recluse (Michael Pitt) with a grudge against Will. As they delve deeper into the case, the detectives discover an unexpected web of intrigue and corruption. - KW

"Sith" is set at the end of World War II and follows a taciturn prospector (Jorma Tommila) who crosses paths with German soldiers in a scorched retreat in northern Finland. When these antagonists decide to steal his gold, they soon find themselves entangled not with an ordinary miner, but with a single determined man who will stop at nothing to get what is rightfully his in order to exact revenge.

Praised by critics for its bold style and relentless action, "Sith" is deliriously entertaining from start to finish, and at 91 minutes, there is no time for the audience to tire of the pulp carnage or crave a deeper story than a paper-thin plot.
