New on Netflix: 5 Shows and Movies to Watch This Week (Sept. 25-Oct. 1)

What's New on Netflix This Week? This week's headline title is Castlevania: Nocturne, a spin-off of Netflix's excellent Castlevania animated series. Vampire hunter Richter Belmont teams up with Caribbean sorceress Annette and revolutionary Maria Renard to prevent the sun from being devoured by the so-called vampire saviors.

This week's new Netflix lineup also includes "Nowhere," a Spanish thriller about a pregnant woman who finds herself alone in a shipping container in the middle of the ocean after fleeing her country. There is also Encounters, a documentary that explores sightings of spaceships, strange lights, and other unexplained phenomena.

This week's new Netflix shows will be presented on a daily basis. And if you need more viewing inspiration, check out our top new movies to stream this week and our list of the best Max shows you (probably) haven't seen.

Not quite alien, but, well, alien. Encounters, directed by Yon Motzkin, delves into newly revealed military secrets about UFOs and alien visitors. This four-part documentary traverses the globe, highlighting true stories from a mysterious light over Texas to a chilling confrontation at a nuclear power plant in Japan. The aftermath of an encounter with the unknown is portrayed as a deeply personal story through the eyes of those who experienced it, with the help of experts.
